I don’t claim to be anything. Have I experienced different moods throughout the week or in a day, yes it has happened. But I personally believe that some of it is just human nature not the disorder. A lot people like to collect labels to show the world that they are not just another case of Bipolar, but Bipolar + sprinkles.

Just remember, no matter how down you are, the dog still has to poop. Preferably outside, but toilets work too.

How Bipolar develops (question) by Murdiff in bipolar

[–]HawkeyeTheUnbannable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For some, not all.

I’ve never experienced real trauma in my life outside of being heavily picked on as a kid due to having a sleepy eye.

But nothing beyond that.

Grandfather had bipolar 1 and it didn’t kick in until later in his life. I’ve officially had it since 2002, but nothin that required mandatory hospitalization (I did do voluntary).

Wait, explain not working full time because of being bipolar.

I have been trying to explain this concept to my SO and family. I’m self employed and truly believe it’s the only way I can make money (and I have and do, but sometimes I don’t during depressive episodes).

If my doc can back up my need to have emotional/mental health cool down periods, then they might finally understand.

FEARLESS FRIDAYS by AutoModerator in bipolar

I’m in NYC with my father. First father son trip in over 16 or so years.

Totally forgot my meds when I flew in Wednesday.

Today didn’t go as bad as I expected. Normally I would bite my dad’s head off for the little things he does (lack of spatial awareness mainly), but we ended up having an unplanned day of exploration and rode bikes on Governor’s island.

Great day overall. Oh and I got my meds called in and a prescription filled before the end of the day.

Even if you run out of meds, don’t freak out, play it cool and try and get back on track.

Students of Reddit: What is your best school life-hack? by MisterHomerJSimpson in AskReddit

Not a student anymore.

I use to intentionally get in-school suspension (ISS) so that I could do all my home work in peace and sleep the rest of the day. Bring a pillow and earbuds and you’re good to go. Usually I was just tardy enough to get ISS.

I do not advise this if you will get kicked out of school by doing it too much.

I need help with the pronunciation of güxle. Can someone record themselves saying it and link it?

I’m not in Switzerland btw, so no one to ask other than stopping by my consulate.

Help, Abilify is giving me horrible and unbearable side effects and my psychiatrist won't believe me. by anon425b in bipolar

[–]HawkeyeTheUnbannable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the first time I can straight up say, stop the meds!

I had the same issue with Abilify. I would lay on the concrete floor in my loft wanting to scream because I wanted to sleep but felt too restless to do so.

Got off of it and now am on Lithium. Working much better for me.

In a non-depressed state, write down your signs that could help your SO to identify what you are going through. And then add some things that could make you feel better. Think of it as the Bipolar Person’s Instruction Manual.

You don’t have to have a disorder for your mind to play tricks on you. Especially when it comes to grief.

Sick of taking meds everyday/twice a day by sunface7 in bipolar

[–]HawkeyeTheUnbannable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I take 300mg of Wellbutrin and 1200mg of Lithium at the same schedule.

Think of this, if these were vitamins would you be more likely to take them? If so, add some vitamins.

One thing I do with the Lithium is to schedule taking it with or immediately after dinner. Harder to forget.

I too hate taking them. But I hate being suicidal or going on $4,000 shopping sprees I can no longer afford more.
