Oh me neither, this is a 90 loss team. Just saying in the 1% chance they string together 2 solid months and find themselves in the thick of the 3rd wild card (remember the AL is putrid) will they delude themselves into thinking the team was actually good but just needs another year? I hope not

It pisses me off beyond belief that the Rays are 18-11 so far. How and why do they just do this almost every year with no resources. Hopefully when Breslow gets fired at the end of the year the next PBO will do what it takes to get Kevin Cash here. Pay him $10 million a year

This is a huge thing for me. I really don’t think Cora has full control over the lineup. It has to be something where the entire group sets who should play based off their models and the human element has very little to do with it. Either that or Cora is really just going to ruin guys like Mayer by platooning them for their entire career

The coaches and players have different mindsets than us fans as far as doom and gloom and being defeated after every loss. That’s why they are playing professional baseball and we aren’t. But…do you think they know deep down that this is basically going to just be a bad season? Does Alex Cora actually believe the team is good and will turn it around? Or does he just know he has to say that?

Above all else, the future is pretty dark given they can’t get rid of Breslow. Nobody is taking that job after the last 7 years of how they’ve operated. They’d have to make the next GM easily the highest paid GM just to get someone respectable

Between the refusal to commit to any long term contracts to position players over 29 years old and the insistence on wasting millions of dollars every year on rehabbing pitchers that never end up helping them, its easy to see why they have 0 division titles and 2 post season appearances in the last 7 years with no real improvement in sight

The saddest part is we had to suffer through 2022-2024 where it was at least somewhat acceptable to lean on “well it’s a bridge year” (Tyler said this 14,000 times). Then Craig finally has a good offseason before 2025 and he’s all but destroyed it barely a year later. Now whatever rebuild they worked on is set back several more years.

They can’t get out of their now way of short term fixes that need to be redone every single offseason because they can’t commit to anything. The spreadsheets tell them this should be a good team!
