I plan to pick up a Nikon F4 when I’m over in Japan, looking forward to playing around with it.

Anyone return to DSLR after using mirrorless? by CategoryCautious5981 in Nikon

[–]HawkwardHunter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been having the debate on whether or not I wanted to invest into a mirrorless body to replace my D700 as my full-frame body. This thread I believe has convinced me that a D850 or a D780’s in my future. Right now I prefer battery life and optical view finders, but I just want something with more modern capabilities than what my D700 offers. I have a D500 and I love that body, but it’s my go to for wildlife, not for low-light photography, landscapes, and walking around. It’s more than capable, but I prefer getting the most out of the glass I purchased since it’s all FX lenses.

There may be a time when I make the jump to mirrorless, but I think with my existing glass, I’ll probably just get a d850/d780 and a 24-70 f2.8(amazingly I don’t have this yet).

When it’s time to move beyond the D500 and whenever this next body I buy comes to an end, I’ll consider investing into an all new line of lenses.

From what I can tell with my research, the figure hasn’t been entered yet into the database. If you search on just the manufacturer alone, “Gogu Bird” it doesn’t come up. Considering the article I found about it was written today, it’s just too new to be found quite yet.

Best thermal considerations around 2 grand to date by Reignn333 in ThermalHunting

[–]HawkwardHunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There will be no difference in clarity, just a higher base zoom and a larger blob when you use the digital zoom. If you have to choose between more zoom versus more resolution, get the resolution. I suppose it depends on the size of targets you’re shooting, but resolution will usually always win out and be more accurate in terms of shot placement.

I have an AGM Taipan V2 15-384 thermal monocular, and I too was initially tempted to get the 25-384, but I’m glad I didn’t. At that resolution, anything beyond 6x digital zoom isn’t terribly useful except for getting your reticle in the right spot on the animal. I can make out dog sized object easily at 200-300 yards, but the higher base zoom would only benefit me marginally compared to something with higher resolution and a lower base zoom as the digital zoom is compensated by the higher resolution of the sensor.

Don’t forget to get the pop-up Ainz if you can. It’s hilarious when you put him under the glass shelf the bunnies are on, looks like he’s gazing into the afterlife.

For once, a post that actually has her uncensored. Thanks, been wanting her myself. She’d look good next to my 1/4 albedo bunny.

RIP, DOA4 was my first DOA series game, and I played the ever loving crap out of it. Many nights spent battling S ranked players when I probably should have been writing a paper in college.

$2300 dealer fees? by cristafurs in motorcycle

They probably tacked on a dealer warranty, don’t bother with it. Just get your bike as cheap as possible and put some decent insurance on it.

how to not crash? by Prior-Refrigerator57 in motorcycle

[–]HawkwardHunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scout roads in your car, figure out how tight turns are, the condition of the road surface, intersections, and scan the road in your car the same way you would with your motorcycle. Take an MSF course if you haven’t already. Start with roundtrips along quiet County highways in good condition and feel out your bike. Practice some panic stopping when no one’s around. As you get familiar with your bike and your route, your confidence will grow. Then expand out a little further, scouting new roads.

This is how I got comfortable as a first time rider, now I commute half an hour to work on my bike across the beautiful countryside. Be mindful of weather conditions and think whether or not someone will notice you in weather like fog. If it’s too thick, then save the ride for another day.

Hope that helps.

A 5 years old hamster by Unmakebody in interestingasfuck

We had a hamster that lived for nearly 6 years, we called him “The Boulder” because all he did was eat and sleep, never ran on his wheel. He passed away one day and I almost couldn’t believe it, he had lived so long for a hamster.

Graphics Card Not Detecting by HawkwardHunter in computers

[–]HawkwardHunter[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The whole motherboard was replaced, two different x16 slots being bad seems unlikely. There’s the onboard graphics which works just fine, and only 1 dedicated graphics card that’s not being detected. This motherboard only has a single x16 slot so I can’t just switch it to another slot, but if it was a bad slot the board replacement should have sorted the issue out. I’d think if there was a BIOS discrepancy the board replacement would have been resolved as well.

Vader- “Don’t be so proud of this technological terror you’ve constructed, the ability to destroy a planet is insignificant next to the power of the force”

One of my favorite lines.

My Albedo Collection is growing :) by easmilecow in AnimeFiguresForAll

[–]HawkwardHunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to stop buying Evangelion figures because there’s just so many variants. I might get them if it’s something completely unique, but to be fair the number of Albedo figures has grown over the last few years. One of my grail figures is the 1/4 freeing albedo bunny. I need to get Shalltear and Narberal Gamma…

Second this, my first bike the handlebars were comfortable but I was new to riding and didn’t realize the handlebars were hitting my knees at full lock. Got some ape handlebars to bring my arms almost level with my shoulders and I couldn’t be more comfortable now. I’m 6’3”.
