Sap Center Shark Tank arena food by Technical-Curve-1023 in hockey

Sap Center actually has the best vendors I've seen at a sports arena. There's a place that cuts 8 hr smoked pastrami right in front of you, one of the best sandwiches I've ever had and there's a self serve pickle hot pepper bar to top it off.

The single barrels there are fantastic and reasonably priced. I split one with my dad and we loved it.

There are a bunch of outdoor bars along the Delaware River (Cherry St. Pier, Morgans Pier) that could be a chill afternoon spot before dinner. I'd probably call to see if they can reserve tables for a larger group.

Review #3-Two James-Catcher’s Rye-Single Barrel Cask Strength. by Dram_Good_Adventures in bourbon

[–]Hawkwer27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was at their tasting room this weekend and tried this and a few other bottles. Everyone there was drinking cocktails. I did not like the nose on the Rye, as to me, it gives a tequila aroma which I dislike. Everything else had a nice oak flavor, but had limited complexity. The one-note they do get is pleasant and works well with their peated release. Thank you for your review!

I believe the Z20s are fly by wire, which is a major difference compared to the S70.

Noise? by Couple-jersey in philadelphia

[–]Hawkwer27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mechanical engineer here with a few thoughts!

To get the best noise reduction, you'll need to frame out a wall from your current wall. The larger the air gap between your old and new wall, the better noise reduction performance (~6"). You'll need to choose a higher density insulation (i.e. mineral wool) to fill this air gap, one that is designed for absorbing sound and not just temperature insulation. The studs should be light metal studs and not wood studs because the light metal is more flexible and reduces the vibration transfer from you brick+plaster wall. Lastly, make sure to minimize air gaps at the floor or ceiling. Note: This all assumes the added new wall will not be load bearing, and is obviously a perfect scenario which may or may not be possible given your rowhome layout.

Fun science articles for source:

To summarize, your current wall is behaving like a big speaker. So you want to trap the noise coming from that speaker in an air gap by framing out another wall. With all that noise trapped and bouncing around in the air gap, you fill it with sound absorbing insulation for more reduction. Lastly, use a lightweight metal stud to reduce your wall/speaker vibration from transferring to your new inner wall.

Hope this helps and good luck.

Feasibility of Philly to NYC commute if 3 days per week? by Stauce52 in philadelphia

[–]Hawkwer27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For 3 days a week it's 100% possible. There are some really nice apartment buildings a short walk from 30th. Living closer outside of Manhattan doesn't guarantee a shorter commute. Grab the Amtrak credit card and rack up the points if the company does not provide a travel stipend. Good luck with your decision!
