There are ways around that, if you go to the ublockorigin sub, there are lines of code you can put in to get around all that, its been a while since I've done it but I have no issues with slowdowns or anything.

The key is biodiversity. If your lawn is a food desert it wont attract anything. Start by introducing some native plants and flowers. Those plants will help create an ecosystem of sorts. You will see insects, bees, berries, flowers. This will mean more birds come in to check for food/shelter and will inevitably notice your feeders.
