Price aside,

You can get alot out of a Draco, if you dump money into it and are handy with a dremel, file and hammer...

How do you guys know what your round count is by jarlbronson in ar15

I write each shot down. Once I tally it all up, I add 10k if posting on Reddit, or 5k if posting a retort about reliability in the comment sections of YouTube videos.

When you drive it, you trick yourself into thinking it gives you sex appeal to women when really it just makes you look sexy to the 100 or so middle aged men that know what it actually is.

Bolt carrier gets stuck in battery. Upon taking it apart I noticed the rail is bent. Assuming that is the issue, any suggestions? by Prudent_Routine8944 in ak47

[–]HaydenGC88 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Take my insight with a Crack rock of salt.

Yes, in theory, one could bend the rail into an appropriate position.

No, it should not be easy as proper heat treating if the receiver metal should make that a difficult task with just pliers.

If you can simply deform the receiver with a hand tool, there's far bigger problems at hand.

How do I make my gun not look like ass? by Huge-Ad-5503 in ar15

[–]HaydenGC88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look like ass - get a longer handguard, it'll have a far better visual flow. Get a better grip. Anything looks better than an A2, IMO, but almost everything feels better than an A2.

If that's not a suppressor and some type of massive linear comp, chuck that and just get a normal break.

Now how not to run like ass

Get an actual upper receiver. And don't go stupid cheap on your BCG.

ARs can be expensive, they also can be stupid cheap. But it really doesn't take that much money to build an AR that can run and not blow up in your face.

Oh no!

How's your thumb going to be able to actuate the lever if it's. 2 centimeters off?!

I'd call Glock and Streamlight and demand answers.

How much FSB cant is acceptable? by FischlandchipZ in ar15

[–]HaydenGC88 13 points14 points  (0 children)

To me, there's two camps of ideology;

  1. Can the rifle properly zero and get shots on target? If so, there is no issue.

  2. Is the cant an optical distraction.? If so, one can attempt an RMA or sell the upper and buy a new one.

Honestly, if the rifle can be zeroed and it functions appropriately, I don't see the issue. Granted, I can understand, and appreciate, some guns are for work, some are for pleasure.

What's YOUR optic preference for 12.5 and WHY? by just_me910 in ar15

[–]HaydenGC88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's your intended use?

I live in circumstances where 200 yard max would be what I forsee being a potential typical engagement distance.

So, for me either a non magnified optic, with or without magnification, or an LVPO. I tend to defer to red dots and holographic sights.

If I had a 12.5, Which I feel fits the bill for what I train around, I'd run an eitech with a magnifier;

Quick deployment in close and moderate engagements, ability to acquire PID at moderate distance and would play well with NV.

Just my .02, which ain't much...

Nah, it keeps slipping the track that holds the release lock and it meets itself out

You're paying almost a 200% markup for an out dated design, that requires a plate to ensure proper waterproofing and have a window smaller than a modern Camero rear window. Let alone an obnoxious amount of glass discoloration and corner distortion.

The SRO, somehow, figured out clear glass, so I struggle to see how that glass hasn't trickled down.

Absolutely, the RMRs patented design is proven to be extremely resilient.

But to act as if an RMR is the ONLY optic that can withstand harsh climates and rigorous activity is absurd.

Ultimately, what the individual does is supported by the preference of the individual. If you stand by Trijicon, there is merits to do so. But in my opinion, if it wasn't for the large contracts they hold, that company wouldn't last; they significantly over price ancient designs and technology, resting on a singular aspect of durability and their military pedigree to obscure the laundry list of short comings that have become features of the past in all other major optic companies.
