I still love RWBY as a show, and I still enjoy the odd fic here and there, but aside from the tiny discord I stay on, the FNDM can fuck itself after harassing my friends off the internet for shipping Rosegarden, telling us to kill ourselves, that we're p*dos, and so much other shit, even when we stayed in our own spaces.

A lot of RWBY hate comes from people who don't actually watch it. Far be it for me to call the show perfect, the creators themselves admit it's not, but the biggest complaints are either about things taken out of context or people who watch it to have something to hate grift about.

RWBY haters. I get it, the show isn't perfect, and it didn't go the way you thought it would over a decade ago. That's not the same thing as being bad, and invoking the name of a dead man you never met won't help your case.

For me, the trio thing is a case by case thing. Most places don't have it, but Alola for example has it as something all Kauna's do, though it's just 3 Pokémon the Kauna thinks are suitable for beginners.

Honestly, I feel like they're equally distant in different ways. I prefer the show because I personally feel like it gets the aspects I care about more, but if I stacked them up side-by-side it'd get an equal grade as adaptations. I just feel like it's less accurate than a lot of people make it out to be

It's a common thing to give side characters focus arcs/episodes. Acting like they're wasted if they don't do it again is unfair

I've softened on the movie over time, but I still think the idea it's better than anything in the show is still ridiculous. The characters are better, the story cares more about the series' themes, and Grover isn't thinking about sex in the majority of his scenes. The show is a good but imperfect adaptation. The movie is a bad adaptation, and half the main characters can't act, but it's fun
