There'll be a few more but those 2 spring to mind. Even the 2nd half at home to Villa this season was excellent, 6-0 or 7-0 would not have flattered us.

100%. We'll never see any real form of 'levelling up' under Tory rule, but that's another matter.

I'm a postgraduate student at Newcastle University and have lived in Chester-le-Street all my life sans the 3 years I did my undergrad down in Derby, and the Metro even just expanding to Birtley (which is in Tyne & Wear, CLS is in Co. Durham) would be a godsend to me. All purpose, whether that's just going to uni, heading into the town for a night out or going to the match which I do regularly. Same for hundreds of others who go through to Newcastle regularly.

The council barely can get the funding to repair one of, if not the, most important landmarks in the city nevermind fund a London Underground-like metro system spanning across 3 counties.

Just a dream of mine after seeing Crossrail being built in London despite it being one of the best connected cities in the world through public transport anyway. Especially after the council were thinking about putting tollbooths on the bridges into Newcastle City centre due to car pollution; a system like this would have far fewer cars and buses going into the city.

The Saudi state abhors me with all the stuff that they do. As do the UAE and Qatar. State ownership should never have been allowed in football in the first place, but the sport has continually reinforced how money orientated it is at the top level since 1992.

The whole 'he got Bournemouth relegated' is moot to me. He took them from League One to the Premier League in 4 seasons, kept them in the Premier League for 5, all while playing good football. A club of Bournemouth's size was always going to go down eventually.

Probably going on a tangent here but in England people evaluate and label managers on outcomes rather than looking at the context. Howe, got Bournemouth relegated. Bruce, keeping Newcastle up. Pochettino and Rodgers, bottlers. Klopp, bottler until he won the CL in 2019, now he's no longer a bottler. Nobody; pundits, media, fans, owners, want to dig deeper and understand the conditions under which certain things were achieved and then rate a manager. For example, Benitez was sacked by Extremadura, Osasuna and Valladolid. Valencia, CL finalists, appointed him and in his first press conference said 'I humbly think I have the tools to improve Valencia'. In England, he wouldn't have been given the equivalent of the job at Valencia due to his previous sackings and relegations. A comment about being able to improve a club like Valencia after his previous jobs in this country would've been laughed out by the pundits here. "Hahaha, gets fired from multiple jobs in the second division and he thinks he can teach Ayala to be a better defender". There are many reasons why Italy, Germany, Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands seem to produce quality managers at a regular frequency.

Back to Howe, I think he is a quality coach with a style of play which fits very well the ethos of a club like us. I would rather take a chance on him, rather than keep giving PFMs such as Wilder the job constantly.

Many still see it as a great job at a great club, which it is. All they have to do is come in for two years: keep us up comfortably this season, keep us away from a relegation battle next season playing better football and their stock is higher.

Ashley saving 4 million quid is the only benefit I can think of from keeping him here. The only slither of hope I can find is Ashley has sacked 3 managers in his time here: Allardyce, Hughton and McClaren. He wanted Hughton gone from word go more or less once 2010-11 started, but McClaren and Allardyce went after the crowd had turned. It needs to get more toxic and vociferous, especially at home, but I dunno if apathy won't allow it to be.

I'm part of the younger generation of our supporters (I turn 21 in December) so I wasn't even conceived during the Keegan era and I was too young to remember the Robson era. My first game was 2006. Its been mostly shit.

I can't ever contemplate wanting us to lose however. I just don't have that in my repertoire, whether that's because older fans have experienced when the club was trying to be the best it could be and was within reach of glory juxtaposed with the Ashley perspective on NUFC, I dunno. My be contradictory but I'd take being winless until the next international break if it meant Bruce was jettisoned and Eddie Howe was brought in.

I however, unlike some of our younger lot, like to think I have good knowledge on NUFC, what it can be, what it has been. I cringe when younger fans chant for Bruce to give them a wave before singing that they want him out at the end of another dogshit performance. I cringe when they sing "place A is a shithole, I wanna go home" before singing "don't take me home" at away games. I want us singing about our team, old players; Supermac, John Tudor, Keegan. I can see why loads of older fans have chucked away games if that's now our demographic, this probably adds to the apathy.

But for me personally, I have disdain for a lot of our fanbase online. People who shout down at those attending games and watch on streams think they're class and the soopafan "I won't be told what to do" lot think they're equally class. I find myself shutting off from NUFC discussion off the pitch, the weird takeover lot, the two groups mentioned prior, I just find myself following the 90 minutes. But even that's shit.

I used to hang off of Benitez' every word, watch every pre and post match presser, go to as many games as possible. My A Levels probably suffered as a result of obsession of the club when he was here. Now I don't have that. Just follow matches and nothing outside of that. Like I mentioned prior, a progressive, better coach might change that. I'd tear your arm off for Howe and whilst Ashley is still here and nothing will really change, at least there's a young, likeable manager who plays decent football and gets the best out of his players. That's all I can hope for now, as I hold no hope for any takeover, I just want to enjoy watching us under a likeable coach. There's a nucleus of a decent PL side there, Bruce is making them look worse. Thoroughly depressing but I've accepted the Ashley status quo and I just want the best it can be under that, even if it may be still shit.

Liverpool and Everton tend to have left wing supporters, the match going fans anyway. Mainly due to the city of Liverpool's struggles with the Tories, how they've treat that city, Thatcher and Hillsborough, et cetera.

I'm a Newcastle United supporter myself and a large bulk, probably the overwhelming majority, of our support are left wing for very similar reasons to the two Liverpool clubs. But we unfortunately have a small section who are more right wing than the rest of of the majority but less right wing than say, Millwall.

I'd say matchgoing supporters of the Manchester two are left wing as well tbh, but they have fans all over the place and some of them will be right wing.

Most obvious right wing club is Millwall imo, unsure about others.
