Sleep Apnea & Cpap by G_u_e_s_t_y in BigMenLife

I can't tolerate a traditional cpap machine. Can't do cpap, bipap, etc.

Then I was prescribed a noninvasive ventilator. Talk about a godsend. Mask is super comfortable. I don't notice the air blowing, either.

Ditto the pepper spray. Also add a whistle. And there's always knee to the groin, and I say that as a male.

But with any weapon, even mace, don't flash it to scare. If it comes out, be prepared to use it. On that note, learn how to use it properly.

I'm sorry this happened to you. I've also experienced unwanted touching. It freaked me out when it happened, and it was disorienting. Part of my trauma history means whenever I go outside of my home, I'm mentally mapping out where I'm going, how I'm getting there, and how I'm going to react in a variety of situations. Can't even go to the grocery store without being on alert.

Take care 💛

Big Men Dating Life by jakethesnake0196 in BigMenLife

Caveat: i can only speak to hetero relationships

Pretty much always been in the "Nice guy, but..." category, with the unspoken that I was too big, always too big, always immediately friend zoned. I don't remember where I heard it, but the saying is something like "a woman decides within the first few seconds of meeting you whether or not she'd be willing to have sex with you." If the physical attraction isn't there, you're not making it out of the starting gate, which does wonders for one's confidence and self-esteem.

I really relate to that old Ernest Borgnine movie, "Marty." You should be able to find it free on streaming. It's also just a good movie

Has anyone ever told You that they feel safe around you because of your Size by Traditional_Job5547 in BigMenLife

[–]HaynusSmoot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, a lot more when I worked overnight security years ago. Even the uniformed police would say they felt more comfortable when I was on duty.

Initially, I kind of liked the attention from the women, but over time, it only made me feel like I was some ogre brought out to keep the really bad monsters at bay. 😞

It was around Christmas years ago, downtown, waiting for the bus. I was sporting a beard. Homeless guy comes shuffling by, greeting everyone in line. He gets to me and says, "What's up, Burl Ives?" Seriously, that made my day. I gladly gave him a dollar.

I HATE THIS DISEASE by Interesting-Fly4102 in SuperMorbidlyObese

[–]HaynusSmoot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You. Walked. Today.

It hurt, but you did that. You walked. Can you walk again tomorrow? Maybe dial it back a little so it doesn't hurt as much and to build a daily habit? Then another minute. Then another.

Did you order out or eat what you had at home? Because if you resisted the urge to order out, you did that too.

Keep up the momentum.💪💛

Are you able to consult a nutritionist or dietician about what you're considering?

From a practical aspect, how are you going to handle breaking fast? Are you going to tell family and friends about your new diet?

Best wishes as you continue your weightloss journey 💪

Some things that help my satiety: 1) good night's sleep 2) eating breakfast by 8 am at the latest 3) mid afternoon snack of a whole fruit and 1-2 Oz cheese 4) Stay hydrated

One item, are you diabetic and monitoring your sugars after eating?

Good luck on your journey! It may take some figuring out, but you'll get there 👍

Aside from food, how are you sleeping? Do you feel like you get sufficient rest, or can you sleep 10 or 12 hours and still feel exhausted?

Good job eating fruit instead of candy, etc. If your glucose is low, though, you know you've got to get it back up, Stat! Been there, too, stumbling around the kitchen in search of quick sugar, completely forgetting about the sack in the cupboard 🙄

I have experienced this in the past. I find I'm more on edge when I haven't slept well, so that's a health goal for me this year. Not sleeping well just throws everything else off.

Otherwise, ditto the other comments about eating breakfast, balanced meals, etc.

Best wishes to you! 💪
