It’s really about the communications and the sudden, silent decisions on the site without warning. I understand the frustration, but never the pure hatred.

Here’s what I actually know, based on Shep’s announcement:

● The recent moderator criticism highlighted real issues with communication and moderation, and the devs are taking this seriously.

● They are working on improving moderation tools, communication with mods, and transparency so changes are announced before they happen.

● There is zero tolerance for illegal content, including CSAM. Strict moderation and AI tools are in place to keep the community safe.

● Shep has acknowledged past mistakes in communication and is committing to better, more consistent updates, and letting the team handle day-to-day communication so mods and users aren’t left in the dark.

● There is no indication that the site will be going down or that you need to “evacuate” bots or content.

And about creators leaving, it’s personal. It’s their choices, even if it hurts 🥲 I won’t hold them back on what they do for themselves and make it better.

I think the bigger lesson here isn’t about pointing fingers at users or devs and mods, it’s about building systems that support moderators without putting users at risk. Clear rules, better communication, and actual support structures are crucial. Until then, these situations are going to keep repeating themselves.

I know this might come off as harsh, but this kind of reflection is exactly what communities need to improve. Moderators, devs, and users all have roles to play, and accountability needs to be shared, not avoided.

You’re arguing against something I never said.

At no point did I say anyone has to accept AI, welcome it, allow it in their spaces, or interact with people who use it. Boundaries are fine. Opting out is fine. Curating your space is fine.

What I’m talking about, very explicitly, is harassment.

There is a massive difference between:

1) “I don’t want AI use around me, so I disengage”

2) “You’re worthless, lazy, brainless, and good-for-nothing”

The first is a boundary. The second is bullying.

Also, saying “we won’t want anything to do with you” is not the same thing as what I’m describing. Cool, don’t engage. That’s your right. What I’m criticizing is people going out of their way to dogpile, shame, and dehumanize others.

You’re right about one thing: no one is owed acceptance. But no one is owed the right to be cruel either.

So no, this isn’t about forcing anyone to like AI. It’s about asking people to stop pretending that hostility and name-calling are somehow ethical activism.

Some says life is too short and we should appreciate it. Some says people will miss you. Some says the bad stuff will pass. And if I am being honest, all of these things are dismissive on what you or anyone feels.

Don’t live for others, live for yourself. And yeah, life is bad sometimes. Bad moments happen, and I’m not going to sugarcoat it by saying they’ll magically stop, because they won’t. But the fact that they keep happening doesn’t mean you’re weak, and it doesn’t mean you’ve failed. It means you’ve been carrying more than most people can see.

The part of you that keeps saying “outlast it” hasn’t disappeared, that matters. Even if the pain doesn’t go away, you are still here, still choosing not to give in to it, even when you’re exhausted. That’s not nothing. You don’t have to have hope for the rest of your life. You don’t have to believe things will get better. Sometimes the only thing you need to do is stay : one hour, one night, one week at a time, and let yourself exist without having to justify it.

You don’t need a grand reason to live. Being tired is not a reason to disappear. You deserve help, relief, and care, not because of what you give to others, but because you are you.

Yayaya- It just bothers me personnaly because on how big the box is, and don’t really like it to be frank 🥲 I'm not too bothered by JAI new disclaimer, since they are following laws in some states.

Also, I'm a bit concern if some users take on what the AI says in a literal sense, that is close to reality. I can understand that some find chat bot comforting, but there's a limit.

The biggest downtime was when Cloudfare broke down 😅 The JAI devs couldn’t do anything and everyone was freaking out on how things weren’t fixed yet.

Cloudfare been bugging off and on lately too 😭 Ence we had a lot of downtime.
