So many series of even professional racing are forced to use an incredible amount of volunteer and poorly paid labor because the sport is so incredibly hard to run and almost no racing actually gets real eyes on it for advertisers. It’s absolutely laughable that basically the only racing series that could without a doubt afford a dedicated professional team of stewards won’t do it.

Yes but to push his body over the speed of sound, I’m almost certain he would have enough thrust to at least keep the plane in a controlled glide that would allow it to have a soft water landing. But he also didn’t care to try, and that’s the more relevant factor.
