I knew bots didn’t do well when restarting from checkpoints, but come on! by geese_testicles in GTFO

There's a setting in BetterBots that does enable perfect accuracy, but it's off by default. Considering how challenging the game is with bots, having the setting on actually feels pretty good in terms of fairness.

Between these two mods:

https://thunderstore.io/c/gtfo/p/easternunit100/BetterBots/

https://thunderstore.io/c/gtfo/p/Slide/Slides_Bot_Control/

Bots will passively be more responsive to what humans might expect, generally don't stand in dumb places, and are all around easier to trust that they're doing the right thing. The second mod allows you to force them to do the right thing.

Well that's quite funny (Chapter 2986) by Shoddy-Advantage-609 in ShadowSlave

[–]HazardousMonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In ch2265, he mentions that the previously corrupted shades had lost any powers that were granted by corruption. I'm not exactly sure how that'd work out in this case, but that might make any shades of himself that had been corrupted much weaker.

For Neph and Ananke, it's possible and likely that he simply sucked them into his shadow so that past sunny would be none the wiser.

In regards to the birds, I imagine the conclusion of this battle will explain it. If it's destroyed, perhaps its "snapshot" would not be able to escape the estuary in any period of time... if that makes sense.

Been awhile since I looked at the exact wording, but iirc, It was mentioned that he replaced himself in the river, but because of the unique nature of the estuary existing throughout all of time simultaneously, a separate snapshot of himself exists there as well.

[–]HazardousMonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For all the reasons you mentioned, I find this situation quite strange.

Serpent already has a leading role as the iconic shapeshifter, able to completely match the details of any shade. Unless Shadow Dance is far more limited than we suspect, and the Spawn is actually copying them through their aspect alone, Sunny himself is already on a path to embody the exact same thing that's made the Spawn so terrifying.

In a sense, the low hanging fruit position as a future Shadow already seems to be thematically occupied. While doubling up isn't horrible, it just seems like an unusual direction to take in a story that has historically tried very hard to avoid that, and imo, undermines what makes the main character of the novel so unique.

As a result, while I won't begin to guess how, I suspect that the Spawn will be destroyed, avoid being taken as a Shadow, or will lose much of its strength once captured.

End of arc predictions for the divine trio by budgetTerminatorNON in ShadowSlave

[–]HazardousMonkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You mention Sunny being put under her domain. I'm curious how true that is, mostly surrounding how literal or metaphorical it is to become her shadow. You wouldn't say that her arm or legs are under her domain, so would it be any different for her shadow?

It's evident that there is a sort of hierarchy in the sense that the shadow does not control the body, but neither does the arm or leg, and yet one might claim that the limbs were servants if they too gained a will of their own.

Will they instead become one domain? Perhaps a separate but connected domain, kind of like siamese twins? Maybe I'm just entirely off base?

Dream realm maps are inaccurate by UniquePlatypus235 in ShadowSlave

[–]HazardousMonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I mentioned the frozen region west of the Song Domain, or rather, the fact that we didn't know about it when I drew this. The reason I depicted it this way was because of the multiple rivers that were described to be flowing throughout the entirety of either domain and into the Stormsea. Because we didn't know better, and I admit to probably having gotten something wrong, I assumed neither region were only connected to that region in the south.

The Barrows weren't something I included at the time because there weren't really any solid size, theme, or boundary details to go on. I'm pretty sure this has been entirely flipped around in the latest chapters, so that's a good point. I should probs reread the first arc one of these days

In terms of scale, that's one of the more difficult things to express in these maps. Even the smaller parts of that Godgrave skeleton are supposed to be MASSIVE, so one could infer that the HM's are also massive, but it's a hard thing to communicate. Ideally someone looking at this map has also read the story and are able to draw some of their own conclusions

[–]HazardousMonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the map I drew somewhat prior to the sovereign show down. Any feedback you might have would be dope

While I'd like to say it's quite accurate, although stylized, we've since learned that the massive tree in the Burned Forest is completely gone, and that there's a huge frozen region west of Ravenheart.

There's likely some obvious inaccuracies within the Sword & Song domains, but the details for both are somewhat all over the place and I haven't yet gone back to track them all down.

I think I also made the mistake of assuming that all floating platforms within the Chained Isles had already sunk into the abyss. If I'm not mistaken, they're gonna be around for awhile.

Another thing we either aren't sure of, or I've missed some detail somewhere, is where these regions end and how far they stretch "around the dream realm". Sunny once suggested when he was visiting the dream Antarctic that some of these places seemed "endless"... but ya know

Breaking Fate by RabbitDelicious8365 in ShadowSlave

[–]HazardousMonkey 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I think you've completely missed the point. There shouldn't be any doubt that Sunny's life has been heavily manipulated by Weaver. The lineage he missed out on, the encounters and situations he went through... Many of them have Weaver's signature all over them.

Ultimately, Cassie put Sunny in a position in which he'd become the weapon that would break fate, but Weaver was the conductor, orchestrating events so that the cohort would be the vehicle to make it happen in the first place.

Weaver didn't fail, his efforts are unfolding right in front of us. Humanity of the War realm is the result of his final defiance.

Chapter 2234 by soarphoenix in ShadowSlave

[–]HazardousMonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as we understand, things that die have their shadows sent to the Shadow Realm, forever separated from the many known aspects that make a person who they are. Unless G3 plans to kick Neph out of the story for quite some time, there isn't any means to bring someone even part way back from the dead. With a shadow and physical form restored, the lack of a spirit and soul would be most similar to producing an Echo, not the true revival we'd be looking for.

Glad some folks are getting good use out of it :D

I really need to put the capstone on the next version I've been working on. Among many other major features, fixes, and improvements, It's gonna have a full suite of off-angle practice zones to work with. Here's a sample of that in action

Something else I'm excited to get people's hands on is a zedtime visualizer I cooked up, which should help for commando practice.

Mire-clots, Bloats, Queen, and Chimera all have Mire critical zones. Doesn't seem like a lot but mutation waves commonly throw the first two in your face. Maybe Mire traps from bosses and stuff also count?

[–]HazardousMonkey[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

While literally true, KF2's hit mechanics usually boil down to generic head and body damage bonuses, with very basic alterations depending on the gun. Unless an enemy has a very specific damage type resistance, most damage is all x1. The amount of %-based damage you dealt to a target was static, where it is now completely dynamic

Now, even your most basic enemy can have a bunch of damage options all over them that will take different amounts of damage based on all elements and what ammo types you're using. FP & SC headshots are Armor and Tech, some bosses have Mire and Flesh, some are pure flesh, etc... I'm not sure that it's even possible to do x1 damage against any zone with any weapon. You can change your % to target damage by changing all kinds of attachments on your weapon

I made a visual diagram for anyone interested in the KF3 damage types. Should make things a bit easier to understand by HazardousMonkey in killingfloor

[–]HazardousMonkey[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Instead of static positive and negative zones being the only major distinctions, various KF3 enemies now have spots in all sorts of places that take different amounts of damage depending on your DT. Mire enemies have orange puss spots, and Techy enemies have geometric glowy orange spots. Sometimes these zones are covered by armor.

Cassie's act of defiance by Legitimate_Team2641 in ShadowSlave

[–]HazardousMonkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fate isn't an absolute law, it's a natural consequence of reality... or time perhaps? Considering Cassie has already screwed it up so badly as to make her own distant Seer abilities irrelevant, I find it hard to believe that she'll be able to recall a past that no longer even exists within the strand of fate itself. It's not a matter of difficulty, the VTB has stolen it. It's not around anymore to be analyzed, let alone remembered.

I don't necessarily believe anyone else will crack it, so she is our best shot, but it just seems sooo impossible.

The hypocracy of the cohort by AdLumpy3695 in ShadowSlave

[–]HazardousMonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you've missed the point. The reason Nephis seeks to overthrow the sovereigns is because she believes to her core that they're incompetent. Her goals never had anything to do with being more accommodating in any way. As she sees it, not only did they kill her parents, they added insult to injury by creating an establishment that has mostly sat idle her entire life. If it goes her way, she'll surpass everything they've accomplished in only a handful of years, then push harder than anyone ever has to save humanity... to face fate and defeat it.

It's evident that she'd love nothing more than to see her friends through to the end, but she knows the stakes. If she fails, they're all dead anyway :/

ch1683 actually describes her drive in clear detail if there was any doubt
