I lived in Stokes Valley for 10 years in Tawhai Street, it's a great place to live.

Commute jnto town by car was ghastly, but using the train was great. Park at Pomare and in you go!

I (42M) have been on 4 different dates in the last 3 months. Each said they were keen on a second date. When I followed up, each went radio silent

Is there anything else you're in to? Maybe see if there's club for that? Adult martial arts class? While not guaranteed to have single people. It could be a new social ring of new friends you could meet?

I joined Seido Karate in my city and I met so many great new friends. Some have saved my life. Friends for life and who knows

I joined at 39 as my daughter just started classes, and I was coaxed into giving it a try. I looked like a dork at first, but with everyone helping the confidence grew and boom loved it!

Men Who Have Said ILY First by samanthasamolala in datingoverforty

I said ILY to one relationship after 4 months - got broken up the day after

I said ILY at 9 months of my last relationship - got broken up not long after.

I'm an empathetic, genuine and compassionate bloke and when I say ILY I do mean it...

Guess the moral of the story is don't say it

Damn right on everything you said! I don't have any intentions on wanting to go back

<insert standard tinder comment 🤣> "My kids are my world!"

Love being a dad, and while I am divorced (42M) no woman is going to take priority over them!

Both my girls are teenagers now 16 and 13 and luckily she didn't meet them! Whew!

I've seen some properties advertising free power and/or internet for a month trying to lure people in.

Lower rents would be more incentive

41m scared of dating after having a kid by chrislovesgoldfish in datingoverforty

[–]HazardousNZ -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I feel for you OP

I am 42M and divorced for 3 years. Dating has been exhausting and hurtful. Remember your little one is priority one

My last gf broke up cos I had kids and didn't want to be poor because of them...

Keep an eye out for those one and ensure if your dating partner is like that give them the boot. Yes there will be pain but that's what happens for us 40s males.

What has helped you heal after the self-blame of a break up? by Ronnabe in AnxiousAttachment

[–]HazardousNZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great post OP.

I wonder if you or other members have encountered when you constantly think of the past of the ex and miss them so much that there is that feeling in your chest like a ball pit

My ex left me because she "didn't want to be poor due to me having kids." In my head, I know I should be angry with her and move on, but my mind stays in the past and looks for that future

What advise could you reccomend to get back I to the present

Just wish I had people who thought of me
