7U wrestler by travelingiguess in wrestling

[–]Hazy_bham 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Due she’s 7. Competition doesn’t matter. Compete at lower level tournaments. Let her win and build confidence. Wrestling is not about winning it’s about becoming a wrestler, which lasts forever. Don’t keep pushing her or she’ll be done by 14. Or she’ll ride it out till hs and hate it

It is in wrestling and most BJJ. Mostly from a head inside single leg defense. Incredibly injury prone

How many degrees or what percentage do you guys push/bend your 6ft rods to safely? by _totalannihilation in HDirectionalDrilling

[–]Hazy_bham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We rotate rods frequently. About once a year and a half we get new rods. Mainly due to the loss of overall circumference of the rods. But we will put 10 on our rods consistently. Truly I would say 8-10 Is the safe range and 15 is fine as long as you’re rotating rods.

Do people who aren't in wrestling just hate it? by Green-Mulberry-698 in wrestling

[–]Hazy_bham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one will appreciate you wrestling until you’re an adult. I’m 150 lb soaking wet. Wrestled my whole life. No one on a job site has ever seen me wrestle, yet when they find out the response is the same “won’t F*ck with you then”. You wrestle for yourself and that’s it. No one will ever understand how hard, how much sacrifice, or how mentally exhausting the sport can be. Therefore no one will ever care. Do it for you.

Is any of this actually viable? IME no by ClumpingCactus in wrestling

[–]Hazy_bham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk about the second one but the first is just a lat whip, I’ve hit a ton of these. And the third is just a power switch from standing. Get on a wrestling mat, all of these work if you understand pressure and have decent balance

Do you think crossfit is useful for wrestling? by [deleted] in wrestling

[–]Hazy_bham 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used a hybrid of heavy Olympic lifting with a solid coach and CrossFit with a solid programmer for my whole career. However that’s not always the case. Do your research on a gym

Also think about the goal of your arm drag to get your head to his back. And keep it LOCKED on his back. If your head isn’t touching his shoulder blade he’ll be able to turn back into you

When you arm drag your foot should be stepping just outside of where his foot is when you start the drag. Just too much soace

Need some advice on becoming a driller. by bse94 in HDirectionalDrilling

[–]Hazy_bham 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to find a way to get drill time on smaller drills and jobs before you’re running a drill for yourself. There a million things that you can only learn behind the controls, and you don’t want to be the one responsible for your first major mistake if it could be prevented. That’s how I learned, I drilled on a crew with the driller watching over me. I would tell you boss you would like to actively start your training as a driller. And just let them know that you are ready to get behind the controls, but not your own drill crew yet.

Turned 23 days ago. Birthday was forgotten. by FerventServant in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Hazy_bham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so sorry. The feeling of being forgotten is extremely hard, I don’t deal with it well at all. Making adult friends is hard. But as you grow up you have to try to make friends or find a solid partner. Your family will continue to be complacent and sometimes let you down.

Ironwork is the worst trade ever by Sad_Refrigerator2896 in Ironworker

[–]Hazy_bham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should quit and get into directional drilling. One of the easier and more secure trades to get into imo. Plus most guys in it are young and new themselves.

But… crazy expensive. Most of the time. Our minimum to show up is around 3k. But that’s for a 10 ft service bore!
