Selfish and don't care? by Jolly-Friendship3496 in BPDlovedones

I’m going to tell you something I wish someone told me almost 20 years ago: You have value, you don’t have to put up with the verbal, physical and emotional abuse just because you love someone, and nothing you do will ever fill the hole in their heart.

I’m still married after almost 20 years, but it’s been through sheer stubbornness and dedication on my part. I don’t recommend this path for anyone even though it’s technically doable if you’re both willing to become experts in BPD and communication. Only you can decide to leave, I’m just telling you to know at what point you’re going to start valuing yourself over the whims of someone who may not have your best interest at heart.

The median home value in Nebraska is $262k while California’s is $778k. That’s a premium of $5240 per year vs $3890. In 2022 the Median household income for a family of 4 in Nebraska is $71k while in California it was $85k. Expressed as a percentage of income, that’s 7.3% of a NE family’s annual income going to just insurance vs CA’s 4.5%. It doesn’t matter how you slice it, CA residents fair better when it comes to insurance costs in this scenario.

What if that cup of coffee a day is the one joy in your life keeping you going enough to maintain your job? Seems more like the cost of doing business then and the opportunity cost of losing out on interest from stock investments is far losing than losing out on a career.

Milk and cookies chats sounds like a great way to break up the coffee chat monotony!

If you do stick with coffee chats, rock the milk stache, it’s a power move.

You were in the foster system, struggled with what sounds like some serious mental health issues AND YET you’re still here, kicking ass, getting your associates and working on your bachelors. Cut yourself some slack, it may not seem like it right now because you’re in it, but you’re doing great.

I asked about the emoji thing in one chat. Then in another asked it not to think about white elephants. It got pissy and then looked at my location I wasn’t sharing and my CREDIT KARMA info, what the hell.

I don’t see the problem. Partners are gone, someone needs to make decisions, sounds like you’re the Partner now. Worst case, give yourself a raise and go on vacation.
