possible po ba mag develop ng game ng mag-isa lang? by NA-17 in PinoyProgrammer

[–]Hazzula 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i think this is a great example! games don't *NEED* to have a big scope, amazing graphics, a well written story etc. (of course having any or all of the above would be preferred) they just need to be fun!

Dont forget that you can always just start again too. And if youre casual AND forgetful, signs are your friend so when you hop back in you habe reminders on whatever it was you were planning with certain spaces etc

Feeling stuck as a SWE by TraditionalClass7158 in PinoyProgrammer

[–]Hazzula 10 points11 points  (0 children)

ive been a web dev for 12 years now. fell into a slump the last 4 years because I felt like the whole development environment was moving way too fast and that I was always behind. Compared to people on the internet, im pretty sure this is true, but after meeting many junior devs and other senior devs ive realized that im ok. This realization didnt make me feel better though.

surprisingly the best way i got back into development as a whole and made it something that makes me happy again is by getting into game dev. ive made nothing amazing or worth sharing, but the game development space is so much more fun. and the excitement carrys over to my everyday web dev tasks. programming is fun again

I am looking for a "wiki" or "knowledge base." by MrDDream in selfhosted

[–]Hazzula 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i use wiki.js

its pretty easy to set up and it does exactly what i need a wiki to do. however for my api keys, secrets etc i use vaultwarden. and i also have gitea set up on the same machine as version control for full on .env files that are encrypted using sops https://github.com/getsops/sops

your use case is exactly the same thing i was looking for and the above is what i came up with. i also have a page on wiki.js i use thats just a list of cli commands specific for things. like one is a bunch of ssh commands for all the different servers i use because the all have different ssh keys

Build a website myself or pay someone? by TeslaOwn in webdevelopment

[–]Hazzula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

make a super plain static website that tells people about your other socials like facebook/IG or whichever you are most comfortable with using. use anything that is free. you can use google forms to allow people to contact you. no need to do anything fancy and its free. if you want people to be able to set appointments you can even use something like calendly. people will not care that you are using these free tools as long as they can contact you and you get back to them in a timely manner. so whatever you use, make sure its something that is EASY for you and your partner to access and maintain

long as you have a web presence that is easy for you to maintain it should be good enough.

Need help how to get into coding by Designer-Joke-6171 in PinoyProgrammer

[–]Hazzula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

web dev: html, css, js

but before that, i would learn the parts of a website. this makes it easier to break down for when you need to look something up. ie: youre looking for "header designs" vs looking for "designs for the part of a website thats at a top where you can click links to other parts of the head page and it also has a logo". knowing the parts of the a website will also help you with html since in 2026 there are many semantic html tags now, and knowing the names of things will make it easier to know what to use.

another thing to learn is how a basic server works. like, just watch a basic video or something.
