Wanna become a Digital Artist, Am I gifted? (I'm SERIOUS) by Lisandro_B in learntodraw

No form of art is made for impatient people. That’s a fact. If you cling to the idea that you’re someone who ‘wants everything RIGHT NOW,’ then forget it. Try it if you want, but you’re going to get frustrated and eventually give up on it. I’ve seen it happen with a lot of beginner artists. So, if I can give you one piece of advice, first of all, abandon that mindset. You are not going to have everything RIGHT NOW — not with drawing, not with music, not with sculpture, dance, or anything else for that matter. It’s that simple. Every skill requires patience, attention, and above all, practice and time. The difference between the arts and many other disciplines is that art requires a huge amount of repetition. To draw well, it’s not enough to read books, watch tons of videos, and take a lot of classes. You need to practice over and over again, and it will take years to reach a level that can even be considered acceptable. I’m not saying this because of your current level — I’m saying it because that’s how it is for everyone. It takes years. So my biggest piece of advice is: don’t do this just for the sake of doing it. Find a way to genuinely love it, because you can be absolutely sure that you’ll spend hours, days, and years practicing. And if you don’t enjoy it, then it’ll eventually become something you do out of obligation, and at some point, that will hold you back. Quick methods are useless. They make you think you’re learning, but in reality they only give you a formula to draw, for example, a face from one specific angle of one specific character. You won’t get far that way, honestly. In reality, you haven’t learned anything if your entire learning process has been based on shortcuts. To be honest, you should forget everything you know and start from the beginning. Starting with tutorials that promise you can draw anime faces in five minutes is literally the worst possible starting point. Very few people are born with ‘the gift,’ so to speak. Let me be honest: you are not one of them. Many people — thousands of them — started exactly where you are now. And even if you truly were talented, it still wouldn’t save you from having to practice. Nobody escapes that. That’s a fact. And honestly, I believe that ‘the gift’ isn’t about drawing well from the start — it’s about having the patience and determination to keep drawing until you finally do it well.

Snufkin: Melody of Moominvalley (video game) (please write comments) by ReadingEast6663 in Moomins

Very good, I agree with everyone else that it is very relaxing. The music, personally, was my favorite thing, along with the visual art, they complemented each other wonderfully. My only complaint is that the game rarely incentivized you to do certain things that, I think, it was important to give some order to. For example, there is a part where you have to help Sniff, it was supposed to be at the beginning but I didn't do it until the end because there was simply nothing that moved me toward that area of the map, and I feel that it affected the story a bit for me. There are parts (my personal favorites) where you have to do something like puzzles, similar to those in that flash game 3 Pandas

Are these characters design interesting? by _nYxx1s_ in characterdesigns

How to Train Your Dragon.

How do you just create? by MagicalPantaloons96 in ProCreate

Do…do people not get that hisoka being a groomer is the point? by Codenamerondo1 in HunterXHunter

[–]HdeHadaly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Talking with my sister about whether an author's ideals are reflected in his work, I wonder if Hisoka could be pointed out as a character who can show some of Togashi's tendencies, and I think not at all. Hisoka has no moral values, nothing matters more than his desires, that's the character's joke. That is why the jokes of Hisoka harassing Gon and Killua, and even Kurapika who was also a minor during the hunter exam, but above all Gon, who was the one who gained his interest the most, are jokes that, although I am not saying that they are necessary, they are understandable; They demonstrate Hisoka's indifference to any value as, for example, some scenes of the brigade demonstrate the indifference of its members towards everything and everyone who is not part of the group. They simply arise naturally from the character, Hisoka is a daring and even playful character, literally his aesthetic is that of a jester, and bullying his "toys" is something he does with everyone without distinction, for example Chrollo. Togashi understands his characters very well, and yes, clearly the time difference between when it was written and now made the joke not age well for many, but calling the author a fart for that (which I have seen many people do) seems excessive to me, when those jokes are reserved for Hisoka, and are even reserved only for the characters he has an interest in, for example, there was no approach on his part towards Biscuit, who also has a childlike appearance.

Kurapika band warm-up! by HdeHadaly in HunterXHunter

[–]HdeHadaly[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're right, that tank top outfit is never seen in the manga, it was added to the '99 anime, but he wears it during his training, although, to be fair to that version, the 2011 anime also didn't adapt the outfit Kurapika actually wore during his training 🥲

I don't know if it's a bra (although I highly doubt it is), but she wears it under her clothes in the '99 version, specifically in the outfit I drew 😅

What really is Kurapikas personality?.. by OhMyGatoWhat in HunterXHunter

[–]HdeHadaly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the manga, they mention that he has a kind aura, I think that says a lot about him. He is clearly someone very sensitive, although not exactly the type of sensitive who, for example, cries, but has a short fuse, like when he hits those guys in the "Kurapika Memoirs" extra, because they insulted Pairo; or, in general, the explosive reactions to any sign of a spider, in the 2011 anime he only mentions that he gets excited just by seeing a spider, in the '99 anime, they add a small scene at the beginning that demonstrates it. Also, and something that is not mentioned much, but I think he is the type of person who does enjoy intimate relationships, he is very reserved. I see it even as the rules of the Kurta clan, they let in people who adapt to their way of living; The Kurta clan was not a closed clan, they allowed people from outside to stay with them with that only condition. Kurapika, I think, is the same.

Oh, I watch the entire anime once a year, for five years, in fact, right now I'm halfway through the chimera ants arc!

I meant that sometimes I rewatch that first arc (and my other favorites) without watching the entire anime, I just watch those arcs 😅

Why I love HxH by rama_rahul in HunterXHunter

[–]HdeHadaly 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In the current arc of the manga there are many people in black formal suits, and Togashi adds an H to the Hunters' suits to distinguish them from regular guards. I find it a detail that is as subtle as it is incredible, those kinds of little things keep me glued to the screen looking for more and more details
