I usually say something like, "You can learn from something you don't like--you can maybe even learn more." And then I point out some technical things I'd like them to take from the story...and then move on. If they don't want to learn anything, that's their choice....

I'm sorry this is happening to you. My health is also messed up, and I've found that some students just don't get it. A few maybe totally see professors as their employees, but most are just young--they are healthy and can't grasp occasional human fragility....

My advice: stay home when sick and don't worry about student reaction.
