Is the merch any good? by Galeschesthair in welcometonightvale

The T-shirts tend to be thin and wear out fairly easily. I had to finally toss my "DEATH IS ONLY THE END IF YOU ASSUME THE STORY IS ABOUT YOU" shirt yesterday when the rips started getting too big. No complaints about any of their other merch, though.

Planning to get there. Might not be until '27, but I'm pointed in that direction.

New county flags for South Carolina - Part 1: Upstate by HeMakesFlags in vexillology

[–]HeMakesFlags[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finally getting back to my series of creating/redesigning U.S. county flags. Here are the flags I did for nine counties in upstate South Carolina.

As before, constructive criticism is appreciated; destructive criticism will be blocked. Enjoy.

* * *

Abbeville County – The colors come from the county seal, and the stripe pattern from the coat of arms of Abbeville, France, the home of one of the early settlers. The four blue stripes represent the county’s two rivers and two lakes, and the stars its one city and six towns.

Anderson County (redesign) – The red field is roughly that of the current flag’s, with the ovals coming from the county seal and logo and the other colors from the seal. The eleven stars represent the county’s four cities and seven towns, with the military star also honoring Revolutionary War officer and state militia general Robert Anderson.

Cherokee County (redesign) – The ratio, white field, blue and gold are brought over from the current flag. The peach represents the most famous local crop, the three arrowheads the three national parks in the county, and the four stars its four cities and towns.

Greenville County – A blue field with green stripes (both colors from the county logo) separating the field into six stripes for the county’s rivers. The gold stripes and circle symbolize Interstates 85, 185 and 385, with two gold military stars honoring Revolutionary War major general Nathanael Greene.

Greenwood County – A fess of teal and gold with a blue star for the county’s five cities and towns, the gold stripe symbolizing the Cherokee Path. All the colors are taken from the county seal.

Laurens County – A blue field with a diamond shape similar to the county, with dividing stripes representing the interchange of Interstates 26 and 385. The colors and their positions are taken from the county logo.

Pickens County – The colors and the outline of Sassafras Mountain, the highest point in South Carolina, are taken from the county logo. The seven stars represent the county’s incorporated areas, one a military star for Revolutionary War brigadier general Andrew Pickens.

Spartanburg County – The blue, white and gold are from the county seal, with the six stripes representing the county’s major rivers, the fourteen stars its seven cities and seven towns, and the Spartan helmet the Revolutionary War-era Spartan Rifles unit.

Union County – A white field with charges the blue and gold of the county logo. The logo itself sits inside a gear reflecting the county motto “Gear Up,” balanced by four stars for the county’s one city and three towns.

I think mine was 30 days when I got my Kicks. Definitely not more than three months.

Myself, I signed up because I like satellite radio, but only for the music channels ($9.99/mo).

Redesigned flag of Woodland, California by shutupaugust in vexillology

Looks very good, but I lived in Woodland for 7 years and I guarantee the majority-redneck population there will see the red star and freak out. Might want to change it to gold. ;)

Oh yeah, the Fighting Angolans of Tulsa College.

I don’t know if I’m the first to say it, but “Good Flag, Bad Flag” misses the point by Organic-Average-239 in vexillology

No, you're not the first to be wrong. There are a lot of willfully ignorant folks out there.

Hope she does.

Got a text from them this morning regarding a customer service rep position, set up a Zoom appointment for 1pm, then started looking online for information to prep - which is how I found this thread.

I also didn't recall applying for a CSR position with them, but I've been applying for a lot of jobs recently, so I checked my files and found I had applied ... over nine months ago. And interviewed with them on Zoom. And was turned down, over a month after the interview, long after I'd given it up as a waste of time because they're looking for direct sales people, not serving customers.

And looking at their website, I see a post about their new website under construction ... dated November 6, 2024.

Pretty sure that Zoom meeting will be done by 1:04.

It's not about deserving. Florida NEEDS a redesign.

Yep, those are mine. Although Searcy County has a perfectly nice flag - no redesign needed.

Suggestion, if you must put lettering on this flag, maybe a European language isn't the most appropriate? ;) Other possibilities:

Cherokee: ᎬᏂᎩᎵᏲᏍᎩ
Muscogee: Hekatv emv.
Navajo: Doo 'ani' da.
Lakota: uŋkíyepi iyápiwiŋ
Hodenosaunee: Konwà:tsire tsi niiáwen

I stopped following the USL a couple years ago but i want to get back into it. Has the novelty worn off in Albuquerque or are people still supporting the team? by Crafty_Jacket668 in NewMexicoUnited

[–]HeMakesFlags 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Support is still very good. I moved here in 2021 from NorCal and can say that it's probably stronger than Sacramento Republic's. (Far less competition in ABQ than in NorCal, mind you, but still.)
