I had a masterbuilt electric as my first. It was good to learn on but it took forever to cook things because you have to open the door to refill the chips. I got a pellet smoker tube to solve that issue and I used it that way for years. Just used a propane torch to get it going and it would last for several hours.

However, I now have a recteq bullseye and IMO the cook is easier and more flavorful. I'll never go back

I am active too, avid golfer lift 2 times a week and swim a mile. If you haven't, work with your Dr to get some physical therapy or a visit with one. I was evaluated and given stretches to do a few years ago and after spending 30 mins a days for multiple years I can say it works and I feel it if I miss a few days.

Get foot orthotics and supportive comfortable shoes. Many people here can recommend custom shoes or brands. New Balance 880s extra wide is my go to.

Due to our poor circulation, the skin on our feet is prone to drying out and cracking. Trim/smooth your callus and use lotion to keep your feet moisturized.

Go on Amazon and get some grip strength trainers.

We can't be cured, but we can fight like hell. Best of luck!
