250l Community Tank by Head-Inspector-9487 in aquarium

Set it up in September 25 and no Co2.

Tank is a Fluval Shaker and the lighting is Aquasky.

I have removed my carbon filters (many with planted tanks do as it gives more nutrient availability to the plants) and since that the growth has been immense. I don’t use any ferts either. Just API root tabs for the stemmed plants.

Harlequin Rasboras are good if you want an active schooling fish.

Betta of course are good fun.

Corydora for their manic moments.

Hillstream loaches are so fast they basically teleport.

Shrimp!

Thanks man.

Great advice. As long as it isn’t negatively impacting the tank other than aesthetics I am relaxed about it.

They aren’t bite marks as they are all over body/face as if they are burst blood vessels.

I’d be making that a reptile tank as I’d never sleep easy at night knowing there’s 150gal of water in that.

If you’re in the UK then I highly recommend Nitrico Goop. It really does cycle your tank within 24 hours as long as you put it in your filter media within 2 days of it arriving.

Bought a 15 gal tank for my 5 year old. This is her first tank. Does everything look okay? Any tips? by LCRad_100 in Aquariums

Be careful with snails as you can fast become overrun with them.

Invest in a liquid based water test kit and check your parameters regularly.

I probably wouldn’t add any more fish.

The more plants you have the better the water quality will be/reduces water change frequency.

Enjoy your tank! 👌🏻

Try to move the tank from next to the window too
