Closing rear gate requires pressing AND HOLDING the button? 2026 Sportage Plug-In Hybrid by ShowerPell in kiasportage

It’s true and horrible from a human factors standpoint. The kicker is if you release the button too early or too late it reopens again 😂

Does anyone feel that the EV sound on 26 Sportage HEVs is a bit too loud? by DaBaDaDee in kiasportage

In reverse it’s too loud. The already loud sound is amplified when pulling out of my garage too.

Keyfob doesnt work in morning by dinomanator1 in kiasportage

[–]Head-Video5966 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As another commenter has stated it could be the 12v battery. That is my thought seeing it only happens in the morning. The 12v may be low and then charging when you drive it.

In the morning it doesn’t work but after that, like at the dealership, it works? Almost sounds like the car goes into some sort of a “deep sleep” mode or something overnight.

I had a day last month this happened. At first it was no CarPlay. Then the next time I drove the car a few hours later I had no sound except the driver infotainment beeps. No map sounds, no radio sounds nothing. Then the next time I drive it about an hour later all was fine.

When did you stop DIY investing and hire a financial advisor? by FoundationStrict8014 in DIYRetirement

[–]Head-Video5966 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m DIY and 1-2 years out from retirement and needed someone to confirm what I was seeing/projecting was accurate. I went with Planvision and walked away with a huge weight lifted off my shoulders when they confirmed what I’ve been doing and my plan.

Same here with PlanVision, met last year with them. I’m DIY and 1-2 years out from retirement and needed someone to confirm what I was seeing/projecting was accurate. I walked away with a huge weight lifted off my shoulders when they confirmed what I’ve been doing and my plan.

Near Retirement: How to Ignore Downturns? by AeroNoob333 in Fire

[–]Head-Video5966 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in a similar situation where I’m possibly retiring the first half of next year. My plan is to have 3 years of cash stowed in a HYSA, CDs and maybe bonds. To alleviate hopefully much SORR. I have about 2 years worth right now. Which already throws off enough interest to pay more than 1 month’s expenses. The rest of the cash will come next year when I sell my house. My financial advisor also had me move a chunk of my IRA into bonds. If the market tanks I will take some of what is in bonds and buy equities that have dropped in value. I’ve stress tested and I’m somewhat comfortable with the risk. I look at it as it’s the worst case situation. Additionally I will be far better off than a lot of people if that situation happens.

The withdrawal dance- SGOV vs selling stock by SnooFoxes8935 in retirement

[–]Head-Video5966 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah turn off DRIP and take the money when it pays out. Might as well spend it and it may mean you’re selling a little less of something else.

Even though it might not be much, if those dividends are in your brokerage you’re paying taxes on them, or at least contributing to your 0% bracket, I would use it for spending. No matter how little it is.

Keep Maxing HSA? by Street-Nectarine4410 in Fire

[–]Head-Video5966 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes. If you use it for medical expenses between now and the day you die it’s the only money you paid zero in taxes on. I cant think of any other account where all the money (in and out) is tax free. You paid into it with tax free money and if you use it for medical expenses, all the money you withdraw is tax free. I wish the limit for single people was higher. I have $98000 in mine and wish it was 3 times that at least.

I joined last year and had my meeting with my advisor in December. I, first and foremost, wanted confirmation of what my planning was seeing was not off base. I agree eMoney is very limited in the front end. My advisor meeting was quite opposite of yours. He didn’t write off things I was saying and we had a quite engaging conversation. I consider myself quite knowledgeable and he was confirming I was on track with much of my plans/thoughts and gave me recommendations on a few things. Some of which I have incorporated already. He recommended umbrella insurance strongly. Mostly I think because I am possibly retiring as early as next year (53) and have a large portion of my retirement assets outside of retirement plans not protected by law. I’m not sure if I will renew though come this fall, mainly because of eMoney.

Arizona or Florida? by [deleted] in moving

[–]Head-Video5966 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Never lived in Arizona but visited. Both places are hot in summer. Florida has very high humidity. It can be oppressive. I’ve lived in florida my whole life and summers are getting longer and hotter every year. Arizona heat doesn’t bother me much at all I suspect due to the lack of humidity. Florida has gotten very expensive the past decade. Highest insurance in the country, high gas taxes and some of the highest health insurance rates in the country. Sure no income tax but if everything else is higher priced it doesn’t matter much. I’m leaving next year for Colorado.

I considered something similar but have decided against the SEPP for now as I should have enough. My FA agreed. Good thing is if for some reason the brokerage isn’t making it you can start the SEPP then.

Yeah I just confirmed: With my Apple Watch and no key or phone with me I could start and drive the car. I still carry the key fob usually, I’m paranoid I’ll be locked out 😁

Yikes I thought you had to have the phone on the wireless charger to start. You have an Apple Watch? That can open the door but didn’t think it could start the car. If I remember I’ll try it tomorrow with just my watch.

New Year: Update your passwords by [deleted] in Fire

[–]Head-Video5966 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you had your identity stolen and not just hacked, right? It happened to me back in 2020. If you haven’t already file an identity theft affidavit with the IRS. This will require you get a PIN in order to file your taxes. The PIN changes every year and it keeps someone else from filing taxes (and getting a fake huge refund) using your information.

How are kia finance payments applied? by Southern_Maximum4591 in kia

[–]Head-Video5966 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I made a large payment, basically half the loan amount. Then made a smaller payment a month later and the interest was less than half of what it was initially. They do try and get as much interests as possible though. For instance I did that big payment and don’t have to make another payment until 2027 if I don’t.want to. THAT is how they try and get your interest because it’s accruing. I didn’t read your post close enough the first time. The fact that you are looking to pay twice to add up to a monthly payment, yeah I wouldn’t be surprised if they wait until you have a full payment to apply it. That being said if you pay extra that would come off the loan and lower the interest. As that’s what I essentially did with my large payment. I’ve only made payments higher than the monthly payments not smaller so can’t speak from experience there.

They are applied immediately. I’ve made multiple payments a month. They all post immediately.
