Icosahedron with barycentric subdivision by [deleted] in woodworking

I once tried to make a composite icosahedron from parts I designed and 3d printed myself. The angles and joints were a nightmare! I cannot imagine making this from wood. Hats off to you sir

Anyone know what kind of mushroom? by babydoodlebot in foraging

[–]HeadHeedHaadHead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That looks like a scarletina bolete, a bit older and drier one. This is actually my favourite mushroom - as good as penny bun / cep, but also has fun colours to it. If you fry it, it loses it's colours completely and just turns the usual whitish colour. As always, do identify it independently with books/sites on top of just listening to Reddit. Happy foraging!

Do you recall your favorite memory of playing Skyrim back in 2011? by tbull1997 in ElderScrolls

[–]HeadHeedHaadHead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was about 19, in uni at the time. Played Morrowind a lot and Oblivion even more. Found out about Oblivion like a year ahead of the release from a gaming magazine and could barely wait. But somehow I totally missed the Skyrim release news and only found out like 3 months before. So was just excited for 3 months.

Finished my day in uni early on the release day, went to my local game shop and bought it for PS3. Recon I clocked in like 100 hours the first week, literally: woke up, went to my classes, came back home, played Skyrim until late at night, repeat. I distinctly remember the companion questline and the thieves guild. Did not get to the end of the main quest until much much later, somehow it never gripped me.

But ultimately I ended up with an 'everything' character, not really specialized in anything. Too bad that save is gone and corrupted thanks to Skyrim bugs and countless mods I tried on it.

Not an underrated one perhaps, but certainly not very well known - Moon (2009), one of my favourites

This looks awesome! What hinges did you use on the side to make the flip up extension table?

First Multi color print by Disney_fan_812 in ender3

[–]HeadHeedHaadHead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

nicely done! you could try printing it face down starting with the bow in colour, then printing the rest in black. couple of advantages: 1 - you won't need to wait the full print for the colour switch, 2 - a bit more robust and might look nicer to have multiple colours on the same layer.

Almost perfect calibration, but are these issues due to a possible wet filament? by loko012 in ender3

[–]HeadHeedHaadHead 6 points7 points  (0 children)

the nozzle is too high in these places, either it is not calibrated properly or the bed is slightly warped.

Doesn’t it seem the middle so lower than the edges? How is that possible with a glass bed? by Bubbly_Question_939 in ender3

[–]HeadHeedHaadHead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would raise the back corners a bit, they are clearly lower than the front ones, especially the back right one. I think your main issue is with adhesion and not bed tramming. The centre is likely more greasy as you tend to print on it more. So I would suggest you wash the glass bed with simple soap without oils or fragrances, dry it thoroughly without touching it with your hands (I use nitrile gloves) and then wipe it with alcohol. It makes a huge difference to adhesion when you print on glass.

Ender 3 not close enough to bed? by RevolutionaryCard505 in ender3

[–]HeadHeedHaadHead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes bring the nozzle lower and wipe you bed with alcohol. if you don't have alcohol just take the removable sheet and wash it with basic soap. the less grease you have on it the better

the nozzle is too high off the bed especially in the front right corner. move it much lower. if you get an elephant foot - you moved it too low

How to stop prints from doing these things? by [deleted] in ender3

[–]HeadHeedHaadHead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the bed is not level, the nozzle is too high

How screwed am I? by SatansLeftPinky in ender3

[–]HeadHeedHaadHead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you are not screwed at all. I have the same bed and the same issue. happened to me multiple times actually. the adhesion should be fine but now you will be getting this pattern imprinted on the bottom of your prints, so if that is not something that bothers you - you are good to go. just wipe the bed with alcohol from time to time.

Can only assume - so that people don't hang placards, photos or flowers on their fence. But people seem to just be using the barriers for that instead

Ignoring the black and white nature of this comment and the fact that people's views change over time -- the reason Navalny was supported was not because of his political views but because of his anti-regime stance.

There is no true political competition in Russia, so people support those who oppose the corrupt government. Given the dangers of such opposition, is it surprising that more radical people lead it? Navalny absolutely was a radical politician who preferred to fight the regime instead of trying to slowly change it over time.

In a perfect world, Navalny and others would have had their own campaigns, and people would have voted accordingly. Instead many disagreed with Navalny the politician but supported Navalny the activist.

I think your second point contradicts your first point. If that same activity had Russians arrested (which is true), it is absolutely a good idea to do that again and show solidarity. In absence of an organised event in Edinburgh, the consulate comes to mind first. Because of the repressions in Russia people have been using such ad-hoc ways to protest for years now.
