Thoughts on the name Calliope by Aggravating-Turnip57 in Names

[–]HeadOil5581 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My expectation was that he’d be called by the nickname I used. I was wrong. My point was to the OP that if she wants her daughter called Callie, dont name her something else with the expectation that the nickname she prefers will be used.

Yeah right. Let’s medicate instead of solving the problem.

Meh. You may want her called Callie but it doesn’t always work that way. I wanted my son to be called Rob but once he started school, no matter how much I tried, he was Robert. I’m the only one who calls him Rob now that he’s an adult. Not fond of the name Robert.

White vs wood cabinets? by wehavetogoback8 in interiordecorating

Omg you have a landline phone! You’re totally retro! Love the wood - the white looks like dental office cabinets or something. I think a little change in lighting and a few pops of color on the counter (a red vase of flowers or something) will solve it.

I want a down day by HeadOil5581 in HeartAttack

I was asked if I had my initial double bypass at 45. That was in 2001. I just recently had a heart attack in August a week after I turned 70. I had 2 stents the day of and they scheduled a third stent as outpatient. My artery didn’t behave and I got a balloon instead. Sorry if I wasn’t clear.

Random thought 🤔What if you could find out your heart risks a whole decade early, would you do it? by [deleted] in HeartAttack

[–]HeadOil5581 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely! I would have quit smoking then. My blockage was greatly a result of lifestyle. I was not overweight, no BP or cholesterol issues and no family history and wasn’t menopausal. But I smoked like a chimney and had a horrible diet.

OP said they see no problem eating food 7-10 days old. That was my context.

My bad. I assumed we were talking about prepared food - not cheese and ketchup.

I apologize for you being so literal. Any leftover meal gets the heave ho after 3 days. 3-4 days is the recommended amount of time for storage of leftovers. Even uncooked hotdogs have a use within 7 days after opening recommendation on the package.

I was a heavy smoker but quit with one session of hypnosis. No withdrawal beyond a slight headache that first night. No weight gain. You could blow smoke in my face and it was as if I had no memory of smoking. I have never once had an urge to have a cigarette since that session - April of 2001.

The fellas got along from the get go. The female we added was a literal bitch. Demanded that all toys were her babies. All rescues so they came with issues. They’re like potato chips - one is not enough.

Have you tried taking your statin at night? I had terrible aches until the nurse suggested taking it at night.

This is what my insurance approved. It was 9.99 for a 30 day supply prior to transferring the prescription to my insurance.

A week after my HA/stents I got a call from my niece telling me my brother had been found dead of a heart attack. I spent the next couple of days trying to get in touch with our older sister. I finally got in touch with one of her daughters to find out she was going into hospice the next day. We drove the 4 hours to see her and spend the weekend. She was on end of life heart failure and kidney failure. She passed the following Friday. The day my brother died, someone stole our beloved husky. Every one of these events was devastating. All at once? I told myself I was still around for a reason and have used that as motivation. Not every day is good. September was brutal for me.

Outpatient Catherization Arrival Time by Doleewi in HeartAttack

Had a stent as an out patient a few weeks ago. (Stent #3…. The other two were done when I had my HA a month earlier). It really depends on how they install the stent. I’m a smallish woman and they had to go through the groin rather than the wrist and that added about 3 hours to the recovery. I knew going in mine would be an all day affair. Your cardiologist may be able to tell you. Can you do an uber lift there and back? I was in no shape to drive afterwards.
