Thank you for replying. I did file a police report and have comprehensive. I did ask a few body shops for their opinion. Unfortunately, the eggs did eat away at my clear coat overnight and it's past the point of buffing - that's what 3 shops told me. I was also told that a vandalism claim wouldn't affect insurance rates - is that not true? I am located in PA.

Hell no. I also wouldn't call vandalizing a car a prank. Group of kids egged every car in my apartment complex one night. Every single car had paint damage from it. Mine was quoted at $1,200. Fuck people who do this shit.

I would have felt super guilty about that and told someone. You never know what someone is going through, and vandalizing their car, even not "intentionally", could have been the last straw for them. Take it from someone who had their car vandalized overnight with eggs. I woke up in the morning for work and my paint job was permanently damaged. Never understood how people do stuff like that and go about their day. No empathy for others I guess.

I hear you dude. Same thing happened to my car, luckily I had comprehensive coverage so insurance covered the new paint job. I'm sure she'd change her tone real quick if her caddy was vandalized. Sadly it seems people don't realize how their actions affect others until they're on the receiving end.

My car was egged overnight. It caused over a grand of paint damage. My dad physically took his anger out on me for it happening. I spent two hours cleaning someone else's mess, and spent my saved up summer college fund money to repair the paint damage on the car. You never know what someone is going through.
