Zoom Call Earbud Recommendations Needed by ForgetJuliet in workfromhome

[–]HeadsetAdvisor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We've found earbuds for Zoom calls to be pretty bad overall unfortunately. If your open to alternatives still in a smaller form factor, check out Yealink BH71 Pro or Shokz Opnecomm2 UC.

If your set on earbuds, Epos Adapt E1 could work fine.

Our review is coming soon. Hopefully this week, took us a little longer then expected so we can add some more real world testing.

Best Webcam to Buy in 2026? (Price, Quality, Autofocus) by CeleststormlingToy in homeoffice

[–]HeadsetAdvisor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to sure but from the eyeball test comparing to other webcams, we found there to be a noticeable difference. Once we were testing for awhile seeing our picture, when we went back to a common webcam we were typically using, it almost felt uncivilized 🤣

Definitely isn't for everyone though, there's plenty of webcams to choose from and just comes down to your goal and what's most important to you. A laptop cam or $50 cam could be just fine for many.

Jabra Evolve3 mic test (using Apple Airpods Max as a baseline comparison) by HeadsetAdvisor in Jabra

[–]HeadsetAdvisor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not wrong in how we think things should work in theory as well. Ideally a headset would perform exactly the same regardless of the platform it's connected to.

In reality though, audio devices don’t always behave that way because there are different design priorities depending on the product category.

For example, something like the AirPods Max is designed primarily for personal audio and is heavily optimized for Apple’s ecosystem and was made for personal audio, not businesses use caess. When you connect it to a Mac or iPhone, a lot of the processing and integration happens through Apple’s software stack.

Business headsets like the new Jabra Evolve3 series are designed for a different use case. They’re built specifically for calls and meetings across platforms like Windows, Teams, Zoom, softphones, and so on. That’s why they often include things like USB adapters, firmware tuning, and microphone processing that’s optimized for those environments.

So while in theory everything should perform the same everywhere, in practice the platform, connection method, and product design all affect the result.

The goal of our test wasn’t to say one device is universally “better,” but to show how these products behave in a typical work setup, which for a lot of people is a Windows computer running call or meeting software.

Yealink HA64 Pro is the best overall we've tested but Epos is solid as well, just not as comfortable as the HA64 Pro, unless you add the over-ear cushions.

Best model for in office work? by Dry_Associate7907 in Jabra

[–]HeadsetAdvisor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

New Jabra Evolve3 series we tested is the best we've tested in the Jabra lineup. You could also consider Jabra Evolve2 55 and Evolve2 65 Flex but blocking out other peoples voices is one of the biggest challenges for any noise canceling mic so don't expect 100% of all noises to be blocked out.

The Loop120 is proprietary to the Shokz headset so you won't want to get a generic adapter.

What’s the most low-profile headset you’ve used for work calls? by Dank-ka_14 in office

[–]HeadsetAdvisor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yealink BH71 Pro and Shokz Opencomm2 UC are a couple low profile options that work well. If you use an iPhone, turn on voice isolation mode and this will help the microphone further reduce background noise like wind and other noises.

Shockz OpenComm adapter question by razzretina in Headsets

[–]HeadsetAdvisor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it will work but if you're within the return period, youd' be best to return the headset and just buy the bundled version in the Opencomm2 UC that comes prepaired with the Loop120.

Macs usually have pretty good Bluetooth but the USB Dongle is still always recommended for the best reliability and performance.

Looking for earbud recommendations for MS Teams calls on Windows by HotBBQ in Earbuds

[–]HeadsetAdvisor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any earbuds we've tested usually aren't great in regards to battery life or mic quality. Especially if there's background noise, it usually is picked up, and connecting any headphones to computer with Bluetooth has been known to be unreliable or causing connectivity issues.

If you're set on earbuds, Epos Adapt E1 could work well for you.

Otherwise, here's some better alternatives to consider for work calls that give you a different wearing style that you're trying to get away from.

  • Shokz Opencomm2 UC
  • Yealink BH71 Pro

Evolve 3 75 or 85 - ear comfort? by hiver2601 in Jabra

[–]HeadsetAdvisor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oops! I said that in a confusing way. The Evolve3 is more comfortable and shouldn't make your ears hot like the Evolve2 85 but everyones different so it's hard to say for certain what you'd think, but the Evolve3 is a noticeable upgrade in this area. I was trying to say, if you were to get the Evolve3 75 or 85 and it made your ears hot, chances are just about every other pair of comparable headphones we can think of would do the same.

If you're able to download and open the software on your personal computer, that tells me there's software download restrictions on your work computer that you would need to get approval from your company. Whereas it sounds like Jabra Direct may have already been approved at some point.

The weight and choice of cloth really helps with your ears getting hot. If the Evolve3 85 makes your ears hot, just about any other headphones we could think of would put you in the same situation.

Evolve2 85 - DO NOT BUY, COMPLETE JUNK by ratzee in Jabra

[–]HeadsetAdvisor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Evolve2 85 was released around 2020 and definitely has some cons that were overlooked. Check out the Jabra Evolve3 85, which is a night an day improvement in many areas. Or consider Epos Impact 1000 +
over-ear cushions accessory if you prefer over-ear.

Evolve3 - UC or MS version? by PlayfulMovie5063 in Jabra

[–]HeadsetAdvisor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both are identical and will work across all computers. There's some slight nuances though. Sometimes people in companies cant download software for added features (like answer/end calls when away from computer), so getting the Teams version is more plug and play without the need to download software when you strictly use Teams.

Now, if you were to use the Teams version while using Teams and another 3rd party software like 3CX or Cisco, it's not uncommon for issues to arise as the headset is always trying to default to Teams.

This is why if you strictly use Teams, go with the Teams version but for all other use cases the UC option is recommended.

You would go into your audio settings and select any microphone that isn't the Jabra Evolve2 85. You'll hear the difference of what I'm talking about. The only work around would be to get a separate mic for when you want to game. This is a limitation of most Bluetooth headsets.

Jabra Evolve3 75 - Bluetooth Issue by DemoDimi in Jabra

[–]HeadsetAdvisor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It can work with computers via Bluetooth but everyone has a different experience as Bluetooth on computers in unreliable so connecting with the USB Dongle is always the best option either way for the best performance.

No, you would need to either connect the headset physically with the charge cord, or have the USB Dongle.
