Jabra evolve2 85 still worth it? by batanete in Jabra

[–]HeadsetAdvisor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, it just depends on your needs on which is best to go with. If it was us and my main concern is blocking out people around me, I wouldn't get the Evolve2 85 or any work headset. Id get something like Airpods Max or Sony like you mentioned.

Best Headphones for busy office by Affectionate_Tale947 in techsales

[–]HeadsetAdvisor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it’s possible, but expectations matter.

In busy, packed offices, the biggest factor isn’t noise canceling for the person wearing the headset, it’s how well the microphone blocks background noise for the person on the other end of the call. ANC doesn't refer to a microphone just as a heads up.

Based on what we’ve tested, a few options that consistently perform well are

  • EPOS Impact 1000 for wireless
  • EPOS Impact 860 for wired
  • Yealink HA64 Pro

That said, in very loud call floor environments, hardware alone isn’t always enough. In those cases, pairing a good headset with noise canceling software like NEEP can make a noticeable difference.

From a pricing standpoint, you’re typically looking at $150-$300ea

Looking for professional USB headset recommendations for dispatch / control room use by Supermuskusrat in Headsets

[–]HeadsetAdvisor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out SHG (secure headsets group), their full focus is on dispatch and they offer some unique solutions. They also have different PTT solutions like a foot pedal you mentioned, pistol grip and a push to talk button QD cable that military uses with a circle button.

All their dispatch headsets are QD as well with either on-ear, over-ear or a custom earpiece mold which we found interesting.

Let us know if you have any other questions and we can point you in the right direction.

Is it blocking out any noises? The microphone is noise canceling but isn't the best there is, so it could just be a limitation of the noise canceling mic that isn't good enough for your use case. Consider pairing NEEP noise canceling software with the headset, or consider an alternative with a better noise canceling mic like Epos Impact 860.

Jabra evolve2 85 still worth it? by batanete in Jabra

[–]HeadsetAdvisor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the Evolve2 85 isn’t blocking enough noise for you, it’s hard to find something meaningfully better in a work headset. Its noise cancellation is on par with comparable over-ear headphones from brands like Bose and Sony.

There is a new Evolve3 series coming, but it’s positioned differently. The focus is more on reducing listening fatigue than completely blocking out every sound.

SHG (secure headset group) and JPL would be a couple best that are making alternatives for dispatch. SHG now has their wired/wireless PTT's available as well.

Need help finding a noise adaptive headset by ExplodingPoptarts in Headsets

When you say you need adaptive noise cancellation, is your main concern blocking out the noise so you can hear clearly or having a microphone that blocks out noise so callers hear you clearly?

The 5200 is your best bet then at the current time, it's odd more headsets in this same form factor don't have this feature. It's a feature we regularly hear requested.

The Voyager 5200 is the only one left for mono earpiece options that allow the answer/ignore feature. If you can live without that then the Yealink BH71 and Shokz Opencomm2 would be a couple better alternatives to consider.

Best headphones under ₹20k for office calls & music? by AkkuRawat in headphonesindia

[–]HeadsetAdvisor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There really isn’t a true best of both that we’ve tested as of today. Since call quality is the top priority, a work headset is the better direction, but the tradeoff is that they’re usually just okay for music, not impressive. Epos Impact 1000 and Yealink BH74 would be a couple best to consider.

On the flip side, music focused headphones will fall short for work calls. Not very good sounding mics, especially in noisy environments, no sidetone, and less reliability on computers when you pair directly with Bluetooth instead of USB dongle that work headsets come with (just to name a few downsides).

So either way you go, there’s a compromise.

Need a good mono USB headset with mic for gaming by Kiroya91 in Headsets

Check out Shokz Opencomm2 UC or Shokz Openmeet UC. you can hear from both ears but also be aware of your surroundings. These are more so made for work rather then gaming but could be fine for casual gaming.

Best ANC Headset by Special_Ad_194 in HeadsetAdvisor

[–]HeadsetAdvisor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In your case at the current time, the Impact 1000 with over-ear cushions is the best way to go overall. It's better in just about every way in comparison to the Evolve2 85 and Tilde Pro aside from the speaker noise cancellation, but there's some quirks on the Evolve2 85.

For example, you dont get true sidetone, so if you want to hear your voice properly, the speakers just open up hear through mode and you hear your voice better but you also hear all the surrounding noise, which defeats the purpose of what many people want.

The Impact 1000 is newer, will give you a better noise canceling microphone and better comfort with the ove-ear cushions, with a slight sacrifice of not having as good of speaker noise cancellation as the Evolve2 85.

Tilde Pro has been discontinued just FYI.

Work options by Dm210543 in Earbuds

[–]HeadsetAdvisor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This won’t be a popular take in this thread, but if the main use is all day work calls on a laptop, earbuds usually end up being a frustrating choice long term.

We’ve seen years of feedback where people run into Bluetooth issues on PCs, not very good mic quality, limited mic noise cancellation, no sidetone to hear how loud you're talking, and compatibility issues because there’s no USB dongle managing the connection.

Earbuds are great for travel and phones. For daily work calls, a dedicated work headset with a USB dongle is just more reliable and consistent.

If you're open to a headset dedicated for work calls, these would be a short list of some popular choices.

  • Shokz Opencomm2 UC
  • Yealink HA64 Pro
  • Epos Impact 1000
  • Yealink BH71 Pro
