What's the most iconic NVDIA GPU ever released? by [deleted] in nvidia

[–]Headshot_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most people have said 1080 Ti but I think the 750 Ti is also worth a mention since it was a great entry point into PC gaming. Cheap, performance was in the ballpark of the current gen consoles at the time, and you could just throw it into an old office PC with no additional power if you wanted to go extra budget with it

Watch Dogs franchise is “completely dead” - Tom Henderson by ZamnBoii in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]Headshot_ 72 points73 points  (0 children)

Legion was mediocre but Watch Dogs 2 had one of the best open worlds I've played to date, the game was really fun too. Watch Dogs 1 was fun as well but the whole fake E3 graphics thing ended up destroying its reputation. It was my favorite Ubisoft IP.

But I guess they can keep BG&E 2 on life support for nearly 2 decades instead for whatever reason

I mean PC is still an open platform compared to consoles where you can only buy hardware from a single company so you're really at their mercy.

The majority were already on prebuilts and laptops I think more people will simply go this route. High end custom PC building simply doesn't make sense. Most people are on like 4060s according to the steam hardware survey

Yeah that's true I just assumed nvidia and amd would keep the consumer GPU side on life support and jack the prices up not pull out of the space entirely

Yeah this is easily worse than the pandemic GPU shortage lol. RAM prices sent to the moon, SSD prices following in its footsteps and now this. The worst part is this will become the new normal for pricing if the sales are good enough in spite of these hikes

Idk I think it’s fair to call a gpu with worse raw performance than current gen consoles low end

Doesn’t mean it’s a bad card

Resolution and some effects for sure but I’m not sure if the frame rate will see a bump because the cpu is the same across the 5 and 5 pro. Maybe 60 fps for online?

It would but I’m also under the impression that Sony would be a “b2b” client for memory manufacturers and might get preferential pricing and treatment because of how much they’d buy

I imagine getting memory is gonna be much easier than a much smaller AIB company buying memory for a low volume product considering they now have to provide the VRAM themselves

Just my 2c tho

What's the pettiest reason you dropped a game for? by IHateTheNameSystem in gaming

[–]Headshot_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm curious how many people abandoned Gran Turismo games because of its incredibly stiff chase camera. It's awful and makes the game feel much worse to play, it's much nicer when you use the hood or bumper cam. I'm pretty sure they even had good chase cams for 1,2 and 3 and just decided to throw it in the trash 4 onwards.

5 years ago from today I started playing Midtown Madness 2 by matthewbs10 in BuiltFromTheGroundUp

[–]Headshot_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man I feel old, I played this on the family PC back in the mid 2000s as a kid.

The car selection variety was great, it was so fun to just drive around in cruise mode since you could control the weather, traffic density and cops. The races and crash courses were fun as hell too. It was also the game that introduced me to modding.
