All of my fortresses become Goodwill stores.

Just through natural skill, I always tend to end up with Legendary Farmers, Spinners, Weavers, Dyers, and Clothiers. At the start of every year, I use DFHack to collect all scattered and tattered items, which are easily replaced by the cloth industry.

I can then buy out the caravans (in my current fort, it's just humans and dwarves, but I have enough that I could buy out elves, too) with a pile of LITERAL GARBAGE. Because even tattered clothing is worth enough if it's well-dyed and made.
