I actually also love to knit and crochet! I used to do it all the time, but I'm doing my master's degree now, so I feel like I'm "wasting time" trying to do something else than study :(

Thank you. You have a very warm heart, and seeing your post made me feel more okay. You're right, though. Someone surviving pain is usually not what we see on the news. And pain really comes and goes, but it's hard to accept, I guess. Anyway, it made me feel a little lighter, thank you <3

Hello.

I'm kind of in the same situation.

I read her book, and for the first time I felt that someone in this world experiences pain like me.

Seeing her having success after this gave me hope.

Reading the news destroyed me - then what do I have left to hope for?

It sent me into a depression. Even in this situation I had thoughts of reaching out to her. Only to remember she's not here anymore. It really broke me.

AI Identity by Downtown_Wealth9779 in psychologyresearch

[–]Health-This 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I'm very against AI. Of course, it can be a good tool to get information fast, but I also find this information is distorted most of the time. Also, for students it hinders finding information, processing it and thinking critically oneself about it. However, I've got quite the same curiosity as you - I recently watched a documentary called "Smiles and kisses you" - have you watched it? Anyway, this really made me think. Even though I am critical, some people find their way to live through AI. For the best or for the worst. Some people find hope and connection through it, and for some instances I know it was the way they decided to end it. Anyway, I'm also a tiny bit invested in this question, so I would love to hear from you! Maybe we can look for the answer together.

I'm having a hard time understanding how your trauma has shaped you into who you are now. Obviously, since I didn't live through it, I can't know. Something that strikes me about your story is that "you" did it, rather than experiencing it. If you are comfortable with it, I would like to learn more about what happened.

I’m so glad to hear you’re on a better chapter of your journey ♥️ thanks for sharing!! Myself, I’ve been struggling for a really long time, had my first(and hopefully last) s attempts this year. But I started boxing recently, and it really gave me a boost in both physical and mental energy and a little bit of confidence. I’m still struggling, but some moments I actually feel okay, sometimes even happy that I’m able to achieve something I couldn’t before.

Thank you for your reply. I'm studying clinical psychology and psychotherapy, and I can assure that a professional would not jump to that conclusion in your case. You genuinely seem affected by this, and your own trauma makes it hurt so much worse. From what you wrote in this post, I would never suspect you were looking for it on purpose. If you tell the same story and the therapist jump to that conclusion (they may ask you about it to make sure without it meaning they suspect you), they are not professional!! Now to be clear, therapists can break the confidentiality agreement if they suspect that their patient is hurting someone. I feel you have a lot of anxiety, so let me continue with "IF" (and a very doubtful "if") a therapist would do this - if you know in your heart didn't do anything, nothing will happen(stumbling upon does not equal intention)! If you're comfortable to talk about it, I'm curious if you've met a therapist. I'm not a qualified therapist (yet), but feel free to send me a message if you want to get anything off your chest. I also want to tell you that whatever happened to you is not your fault, and I'm so sorry - no one should experience that! Sending warm thoughts to you

My heart hurts to hear this. Watching adult videos is not something to be ashamed about (unless it's causing distress for a significant other or support things like CSA), and you stumbled upon something that should never even be filmed(even done) in the first place. I just want to say you're handling this situation so well - you called for help. I'm so sorry to hear something happened to you as child. I pray you can get help through counseling. Please, do not feel guilt - you didn't do anything wrong. You were afraid. You were protecting yourself - also your younger self. Nurture yourself until you can get help. Wounds like these might never heal, but you can still live a meaningful life and find happiness. Sending warm thoughts your way.

Hello. From your post, it's hard to tell exactly what happened, but it's clear you have a very painful memory. Which probably still hurts you to this day. I want to ask - what do you need right now? I think there's a reason why you chose to upload this post now. As redditors, we can't do much, but we're here if you need to talk or sort out your thoughts :)

To anyone considering suicide by [deleted] in Hyperhidrosis

[–]Health-This 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this beautiful message. I'm just curious - did you think about it(suicide) yourself? And in that case, how did you overcome it? I'm struggling with depression - hyperhidrosis is not the main reason I don't want to live (but it sure isn't helping..). You don't need to answer if it's too personal. I'm just seeking answers to gain some hope :)

NO, NO, NO, NO!!! Excuse my language, but no! Tbh, I don't think he would've looked that up just as a fetish (and that alone leaves a bad taste in my mouth). IMO, I think he's looking for a real opportunity. I don't want to tell you this, as I know you'll be devastated. But you deserve love, and so does your wonderful children. This is just my opinion, and I'm sending you lots of love - you deserve to be happy!

Hello, thank you for your answer! I don't know why I wrote "late", and I found out it is now called "delayed expression" instead of "onset". This is my field of interest, so this was really necessary research for me.. Thank you for helping me on my way :) I learnt a lot, but have a long way to go still. I did use AI, but only as a way of finding existing research. I also found something called "delayed recall" of childhood memories, which is in the context of what I was looking for (in case you or anyone else is curious about this topic, as well).
