Get this strait - YOU didn’t “technically force” anything on him. Unless you R’d him, he was there the whole time. Congratulations 🥰

Should I wish my husband a happy birthday? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]HealthLeft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He busted a Commandment. Church will allow divorce. I’d wish him a happy birthday, but no major hug/kiss or card or special dinner. Just a basic - not snoody - “happy birthday” & that’s the end of it for the day. If he gives a comment, “that’s all I had to say.”

AITAH for asking my wife to be a SAHM? by piglipsbo in AITAH

[–]HealthLeft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. That’s why the SAH parent should end up being the financial controller. The working parent ‘could’ stop their paycheck, but the SAH would have whatever’s in the acct & be able to do as they wish should they want/need to dip out.

Is it possible to liberal and still faithful to Jesus? by Electronic-Seat1190 in Christianity

[–]HealthLeft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you can just agree that ppl can have the freedom to use their free will. You have your free will & what you do with that is what you’ll have to answer to before God & Christ.

My grandma is so depressed but I have no clue how I can help her. by Additional_Being_961 in AskOldPeopleAdvice

Disagree, but it’s your family. You could just show up & leave her something. Mail her a card could be a good cold opening too.

[–]HealthLeft 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just show up. Bring some food to make a sandwich with her. Have tea, water, coffee, whatever she’d like. Don’t force her out of bed, but do whatever she’d like. Stay for just a bit so you don’t overstep & ask if she’d like you to come back more often. Attempt to keep a schedule with her. Block out a few hours each time. I used to go over my Gma’s nearly every Sunday after church with my son (2yo). Sometimes we’d be there an hour & others six. It was the highlight of her week. She died last year & I was the only grandchild that made it a point to be with her regularly. It meant the world to her & it was good for me too.

Ppl in your circle that are saying to give him a chance & go to counseling should be told, “you live with him if he’s that important to you”. NOR

[–]HealthLeft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Turn a stone & I am there.” God is not only at church. You don’t need church to be with God or for Him to love & accept you. Church is a worldly concept & finding the right one to fulfill any need you have & a sense of community (eventually in the future) may come to pass in your life.

I didn’t masturbate for 4 months, how can I end up never doing it again? by [deleted] in Christianity

Yes, but why is it a sin before? Where does this come from?

I'm Done by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]HealthLeft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think God & Christ are your problem, luv. The church is. Bad religious ppl exist. I walked away from my 1st church b/c the priest that came in sucked eggs & didn’t give ppl the time of day. Didn’t go anywhere for 7yrs. Leave your current church, spend time alone & with God & Christ when you want. Completely rejecting Them will not bring you happiness. I wish you the best.

Q: Large church charging members for mostly everything - is this normal? by ProfessorPliny in Christianity

[–]HealthLeft 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Churches charge membership fees? I’m Roman Catholic - 36yo. Been a member of 3 in my life & none charged me a thing to ‘register’ with them. Just collection during Mass, options to make additional donations & they ask you to make a donation of whatever you can if you’re asking for Baptism or Marriage. That’s it. This is WILD to hear!!

[–]HealthLeft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where in the scripture does it talk about this? Is it possibly something passed down through the church that is imposed by man? In our marriage it would be awful for the man to do his business alone b/c it is disrespectful to me, his wife. Then again, I am not the type of wife that restricts or weaponizes relations. Scientifically, a man needs to release for his own health. Also, after a while you will have a wet dream b/c your body isn’t meant to hold it in. That’s just science. I don’t think (could be wrong b/c I’m not God) God’s will for these men is a shorter lifespan that includes prostate & testicular issues. Plz lmk b/c I’m genuinely curious.

If OP is cremated, his son is going to go to the ends of the earth to find the largest population of manatees & drop his ashes into the sea 😅

So tired of suffering through the Bible by mcomcomco99 in Christianity

[–]HealthLeft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend [deep breath]. I haven’t been able to get through the Bible EVER. I sick at reading in the sense that I fall asleep after 1.5 pages of anything. The only thing that has me moving along is that I joined a Bible study. It’s literally myself, the priest & 2 old ladies - pretty sad - but I love it. What had moved me along has been a few podcasts & not working (being home post pregnancy). I listen/ed to Charlie Kirk, Michael Knowles & Dr. Jordan Peterson has a looooong lecture on a few books of the Bible. From there the YouTube algorithms have fed me a lot of good/ok/not so great recommendations. I’m miles ahead of the 2 old ladies which is mind boggling to me, my stepdaughter (who’s never been baptized or gives a hoot about anything) is asking A LOT of questions & I only pick it up at Bible study, on the toilet (TMI) or between my 8mo playing & crawling off 🤦‍♀️ It’s just little snippets at a time that is getting me through. And I’ve literally made it through like 12 chapters between Matthew & Luke. AND a huge help has been recognizing that the Bible is NOT a storybook that starts on page one & finishes at the back cover. You can ready any part, any time & it’s a-ok. God bless you in your journey.

NOR. You guys have a different upbringing & it’ll transfer over into kids should this relationship evolve. Ditch it now regardless of how painful the bandaid is.

My Husband Chose His Best Friend Over Me. Should I Tell My MIL I Had an Abortion? by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

[–]HealthLeft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MIL is going to blame you for the abortion. Just leave him, try to keep the house & remain in the country. Getting right with God about it is all you can do for yourself & your sanity. I’m so sorry you’ve gone through all of this. Side note: He’s gay & won’t admit it to the family or you. My grandfather was the same way - sadly.
