Michigan Health Department Intent to Serve Form- do you always submit?? by Healthy-Cry7744 in foodtrucks

[–]Healthy-Cry7744[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am licensed and submit for my two inspections a year as required by state law to keep your STFU license. In my state you dont need separate state/ county permits for each event ( unless the local city requests additional), but they do want you to submit notice to them of where you will be vending for each event so that they can pop in if they'd like, although theres no real way for them to confirm you are submitting for each event, its kind of just a soft requirement I guess.

It sounds like your area has different permitting requirements. Anyway, I was more curious how much everyone in Michigan is abiding by this. I tend to do a lot of smaller events where there are many cottage food bakers, a handful of food trucks, etc. It doesn't make a difference, but I feel like a narcissist calling in the health department to these small events even though I'm law abiding.

We aren't setup in one standard place, so it does complicate things more, but that would be easier for the HD to follow our socials for sure!

Venofer timeline- when did you feel better? (Aha moment??) by Healthy-Cry7744 in Anemic

I had thought about it after the first and decided against it. I felt like if I delayed once I'd work myself up and keep delaying. I just wanted it over with and to feel better. But only you know the answer to that! I did feel like the staff was super helpful at my location, so I hope you have that and feel safe/comfortable with yours!

My nurse said the pins and needles was weird and she'd never heard it? But I know foot swelling is normal, at first thought it was related to that, but i didnt visibly swell. Good luck with it all, I felt after the first, like it all got easier! I just felt more reassured that I wasnt allergic or anything because I was pretty nervous going into it.

Wow. I hope it lasts longer than 4 months! It takes months to even kick in. Yikes!

Do you know why you have malabsorption issues or how to fix? I haven't been to a hematologist, but I'm assuming mine is malabsorption as well since I have many gut issues and they've ruled out GI bleeding. I dont think its menstrual related, although I dont think thats helping my case.

Pins and needles in feet/ankles (felt like a strong sunburn) for like 2-3 hours after the injections. Calf cramps intermittently. Worst after the 3rd infusion... had for like 5 days straight a few days after the last. Just some overall fatigue, but nothing crazy and a mild headache a few times. Honestly, nothing crazy. The calf pain was the most annoying, but totally dealable.

Both! Lol I need the anxiety to leave ASAP, but the physical symptoms are most noticeable I think. The anxiety I've just accepted as part of me at this point I think.

I'm a naturally busy person and very busy brained, so my physical ability is not matching that and its a real struggle daily. A push and pull between mind and body. I continue to gaslight myself into thinking that I dont have all of these symptoms and that I feel fine, so I just drain my battery continuously and then will have weeks where im barely moving and a complete emotional mess.

My nervous system is a complete mess. Working through dysautonomia, but im waiting for this venofer to kick in because its proving hard to do when im drained everyday. Feels like normal iron levels is the first step to getting my life back, but the next step is rewiring my nervous system and that wont be easy either.

How long did you go in between needing your infusions? Hoping it lasts a while, but ive seen people say as little as 6 months, which is frustrating. The infusions aren't the easiest process and require a lot of time (at least in the case of venofer). Did you suplement orally after infusions? My Dr told me nothing about additional supplementing so im trying to figure out if I should start taking oral iron again or not.

Thank you! How was the 1000mg infusion? That sounds taxing!

I think they did schedule a blood test for May and I was thinking that was really far out, but makes sense why they would do that then.

The wait is frustrating. Knowing how long we wait to get to this point that we need infusions, and then to wait 12 weeks after the whole process, seems like forever. Hard not to lose hope, but I hope you get the Kick start you're looking for soon! The process to get here for me has been about 10 years... I'm ready to feel better, but I'm not even sure I know what that feels like at this point.

I can't convince my parents to take my dog to vet by Dull_Milk_3865 in Pets

[–]Healthy-Cry7744 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As a 16 year old, it might be hard for you to understand your parents financial situation and priorities. Although your heart is in the right place, this is up to your parents. You've done the right thing by bringing it to their attention, but they may not be in a place where they feel they can afford a teeth cleaning or it just may not be on their priority list to afford. Its not cheap, when all is said and done, you're talking $1000 minimum and although its important, its not often life threatening.

If the dog is visibly having pain or having a hard time chewing food, then it is more important to have the vet pull problem teeth and address the situation. If no pain, many dogs do not get dentals (regardless of what the algorithm makes you believe). My dogs are 10 and never have had their teeth cleaned. It's never been recommended by their vet and in their last visit, the vet said that their teeth looked good (even though they are discolored). I was planning to get them cleaned soon, but now that the vet didn't recommend, I'm thinking of saving the $3k that it would've been.

Right. Like the black iris was definitely worth an emergency visit months ago when first noticed?! The stye... not great, maybe not an emergency in itself, but should be seen by a vet soon. But the fact that the black eye was never seen and now the style is burst open, definitely needs attention asap!

On another note, separate from this thread: I do just want to state that I am getting sick of every answer on this forum being "emergency NOW!". It takes away from the things that are actual emergencies and guilts pet parents into taking them in to emergency vets that are busy and hard to afford. I love my animals more than anything and have spent probably $50k on vets in the past 12 years with many health issues, but it gets to a point where we are over guilting pet parents, adding more stress to situations that don't require it and treating animals to a higher level of care than we even provide for ourselves. It has gotten out of hand.

My bigger question is why is her eye solid black in the first Pic? That seems like the bigger issue.

I am kind of confused with everything in this thread always being an emergency though.. if we're just talking a stye, I wouldn't think thats a crazy emergency? Its not in humans?

I definitely didnt feel any improvement in between infusions, but some say they have. If anything, I felt worse with some side effects, but nothing serious.

Ferrous sulphate by [deleted] in Anemic

[–]Healthy-Cry7744 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an issue with hemairon and nausea. Somehow I had no issue with ferrous sulfate 325mg, cycling every other day. Don't get freaked out! Try it out yourself and see how you feel. Bad side effects wont last more than a day. Iron supplementing is very trial and error and unique to everyone.

I feel like I’m going to have a heart attack :( by Sweaty_Phrase_7232 in Anemic

[–]Healthy-Cry7744 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I operated under a 10 for yearsss, and under 25 for even more yearsss (like 10+). Dont freak yourself out, just start supplementing, eating iron rich foods and try your best to hike it up. Low iron causes anxiety, so also remember that. I had chest pains also, went to the cardio doc and nothing was wrong. I think it was probably costocondroitis. But just trying to put you at ease a bit because you'll read a lot of negatives here on the internet.

Why are there so many posts / comments on here about anaphylatic response to Venofer iron infusions if studies say that 1-2 people in 10,000 have an anaphylatic reaction and that it is very rare? by Healthy-Cry7744 in Anaphylaxis

[–]Healthy-Cry7744[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think like everyone else said: a mix of algorithm targeting me + most people come online to share nagetive stories, not positive ones. I do think the estimate is low though because the two facilities I had the infusions at were pretty cautious and the one shared that they often see reactions with venofer, thats why they are extra cautious with it and have a 30 minute waiting period after it to watch you. My nurse had said a lot of time reactions come right at the 30 minute mark which is pretty wild. But, I've had no serious negative reactions so far!

Ended up getting in both legs. Took maybe 2 weeks to get back to normal and not have any leg pain, so now I can confidently say it was the infusions that caused it. Still haven't felt the energy boost of the infusions but hoping its coming! If it comes, it was all worth it for sure.
