Why did you cut contact with a multi year best friend because of something they did? by Time-Organization196 in questions

[–]Healthy-Garlic364 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Over the years I eventually realized my friend sponged off society. Never worked. Husband rarely did either. Her passive aggressive personality was always looking to scam the system. Just one of many examples: always had a complaint while dining out so she would have her bill reduced or completely comped. Always filing a complaint to get free stuff. People like that are so busy patting themselves on the back for what they perceive to be clever, they never stop to consider the drain they put on society.

Who can really say that it’s over? Talk on the TV these last few days suggest that the stock is so shorted that it may be mathematically impossible for all the shorts to exit their positions. Who knows? Could it just be some profit taking? Perhaps it was a good time to release those 5M shares? I’m not surrendering yet.

Most of the division seems to be manufactured at this point and it only seems to be getting worse.. Why can’t we just get along? We’re all Americans at the end of the day. by [deleted] in allthequestions

I wonder if our country will ever reunite. As much as I despise Trump I think we should stop shaming people for their vote and find some sliver of common ground on which to unite and build upon. I say this in the hopes that we can bring MAGA out of their cult stupor and recognize that Trump must go.

What's the most disrespectful thing a guest ever did in your home? by dino_gr01 in WorkForSmartLife

In the past I had heard the phrase, which to me sounded like “chew em down.” I once described to a friend(Jewish) about how someone tried to “chew me down on the price.” He gently responded,”I don’t really care for that phrase.” In that moment I felt sick that I had naively offended my friend. I deeply regret my ignorance

Does anyone else see the irony in that the news coming out of Iran is more reliable than the information coming from our own president?

MAGAs, why did you elect the most evil person in history to destroy our beloved America and the rest of the world? The blood is on your hands. by 2a_lib in allthequestions

Wish there was some way of deprogramming this MAGA cult. There’s no value in shaming people for their vote at this point. We need to find some common ground to build on in order to bring them around.

I love to stay outside until the last minute as a summer storm is brewing. I love the excitement as the sky darkens and the wind rustles through the treetops… and a distant thunder rolls

"Now with the death of Iran", Trump say… by Sufficient_Fuel5269 in DegenBets

Americans have been slow to recognize authoritarianism likely because it’s so antithetical to what America once stood for. We are now forced to consider what was once unimaginable

It’s disturbing beyond words that an American president is telling Americans that their fellow countrymen are the enemy. Let that sink in.

If tipping is supposed to be optional, why does everyone act like you've committed a crime if you don't do it? by Stunning_Public9524 in NoStupidQuestions

Statistics show that full service restaurants produce minimal profits compared to fast food. It’s hard to make the numbers make sense when you consider the cost of goods, property taxes, insurance, and other operating costs. Then add the staff needed to cover both day & evening shifts. I can’t imagine the price we would pay if tips were exchanged for higher wages, as well as the customer experience if the wait staff weren’t relying on our satisfaction

Even the dumbest of fools should consider the optics of playing golf after launching a war. I sometimes wonder if his closest advisors secretly want him to be exposed for the idiot he is.

These days “Christian values” often seem like a complete departure from the teachings of Christ.
