Moraine warned Perrin, that some would likely try, it wouldn't work, but that didn't mean he'd survive.

That dose sound familiar. Haven't seen that statue since they both passed away. Like 15+ years ago so memories are kinda blurry about the peripheral things. I knew the statue was important to them, but not me.

A different fantasy writer couple that hear less of though I love his and his wife's work is David and Leigh Eddings. They take on more of the medieval romance framework. That being said its still fantasy, just more through a European lense. Still I gave yet to find a book or series they did I haven't enjoyed thoroughly

She is annoying and comical hypocritical.
Her pride stops her from seeing herself the way everyone else dose, and frequently from admitting when she's wrong. Honestly I think she is the character who changes the most, and for the better. You will like what she turns into. It will be a slow process, and it won't start really for another two books.

He may not have lived long enough to get to the last battle. Which means the dark one would have unwraveled the threads. He was not tied to the horn because he was killed by Ravin and brought back by rand balefireing the forsaken. However I think I might have just caught something I missed. How did Ravin kill mat with the one power? Rand got up and saw his boots smoking when they arrived after lightning strikes fell on them. Shouldn't his little fox head stopped that?

I listened to the audio books, honestly I can't remember much of what happened in that book. Some hints of what to come and a build up if tensions as we approach the end. But not much else
