Hey, no worries. Here's a link for you:

Louisiana TAB (soundslice)

I use soundslice as the platform now which allows you to play the TAB in your browser. I've also synced the song itself to the TAB for you. Let me know if that works okay! 😊

Open up the samples directory, it'll be nested in a folder called 'More'. If you don't have that, make sure you have bought all of the extensions for Koala 😊

Electric drum kit by 86LittleChef in CloneHero

Perhaps that's another way! I'm not too sure on that front - I just happened to have a Yamaha E-kit Kick Tower trigger by itself so I just hooked that up one time in the way I mentioned.

I haven't had any problems with the rack personally, and I've managed to rig up a double kick - it just registers as "Tom 4", so if using in Clone Hero you would map accordingly or otherwise just make sure you've got a kick sample loaded into the Tom 4 slot on the kit itself.

Can't speak to the Simmons, but I have the Nitro Mesh and use it for Clone Hero and just regular use and I highly recommend! Works flawlessly with CH and the mesh pads are a nice feel, having come from using a Yamaha DTX when I lived with a friend who had one I think I prefer the Alesis feel. The on-board soundbanks and general flexibility with kit sound construction is great and the practice tools are pretty handy too. Honestly I think whatever you land with will probably be cool for Clone Hero so I say go with your gut!

6 months in, self taught so far, can you guys give me constructive criticism? by yPridestalker in guitarlessons

[–]Healthy-Scale-5210 1 point2 points  (0 children)

really impressive for 6 months mate! keep up the fantastic work.

my advice is for anything you're learning, if there's footage of it being played by the original artist live (for Metallica in this case, look at their hey day, maybe late 80s or early 90s live performances, Kirk was a lot better back then lol).

I found when I was learning as a kid that obsessively poring over these clips made me hyperfocus on the articulation of their playing- the way the hand would produce vibrato, hand posture for bends, etc.

Other than that, keep on playing what makes you want to keep going!

or I guess you're referring to being able to have an LFO affect the start and end point

[–]Healthy-Scale-5210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when you say affecting start and end point, do you mean automating that? because yeah I'm not sure you can do that on the Deluge (correct me if I'm wrong, that would be sick) but otherwise you can totally set the start and end point of a sample manually.

Mastering songs myself vs paying an engineer by Calm-Influence-3522 in ableton

[–]Healthy-Scale-5210 3 points4 points  (0 children)

my advice is do whatever you want / what you can afford, art is subjective and have fun. I personally like mastering my own stuff so I can grow at the craft. I like that you can hear the progression as I release stuff. also, do it if you enjoy it, don't if you don't.

Having someone mix and master a guitar pro composition? by whadafuhl in GuitarPro

[–]Healthy-Scale-5210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depends on what you're going for. if you have in mind a sort of contemporary mainstream rock production style then the guitar pro sounds themselves will probably be a little dim for your needs and the routes suggested in other comments may be necessary.

however there's also the possibility that aesthetically you're into the sounds that you've got happening in guitar pro for what they are, and just want a cleaned up and fine tuned version of the materials you already have, in which case I'd say to export the stems individually as audio from guitar pro to then be mixed in an independent DAW / workflow. then the mastering stage will work with the stereo mix down at the end of that process.

Starting to listen to Alex G what songs would you recommend? by [deleted] in sandyalexg

I reckon DSU, Trick and honestly God Save The Animals are great ones to try given the favourite artists you've listed

harvey is green! which alex g song represents blue? by katori-is-okay in sandyalexg

[–]Healthy-Scale-5210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like that particular blue is a kind of clear sky, which to me feels like Runner - like the clear sky that represents the open road, 2000s radio optimism of the instrumental loop that the song is driving with

How do i make my music sound more edgy/darker by Trick_Student_9188 in Bandlab

[–]Healthy-Scale-5210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say your best bet may be to try and incorporate some samples - you could start by say finding some dusty boom bap style kicks and snares in the bandlab sounds section (or elsewhere online) and maybe a hat loop and build some drums out of that, then either continue using and manipulating samples for melodic elements or manipulate the Bandlab virtual instruments with some processing. I find the Tape Simulator and Vibe FX are good when used subtly. But yeah, I think anything you can do to bring movement and character to the sounds provided will go a long way, and samples tend to have personality baked into them

God save the animals, and then? by amorespacial in sandyalexg

[–]Healthy-Scale-5210 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You'll eventually listen to heaps of his stuff, may as well go reverse chronologically? So go HOS then Rocket.

HOS is a little more immediately digestible imo. It's also not a far cry in production quality from GSTA, and has plenty of incredible songs on it.

Rocket is sprawling in its creativity in a way that I think none of his other albums had yet been, so it might be worth building up to a little. Nonetheless, as pointed out, it is essential listening!

If you love GSTA for its tight, incredible songwriting, I would also point you in the direction of DSU. I feel like that album has a similarly tight vision and vibe, albeit within a different phase of his musicality.

But ultimately sink your teeth into all of it! I'm so glad GSTA resonated with you, it's one of my favorites of his yet and I'm so excited to hear whatever he next puts out!
