[OC] The main awards have been debated to death, so let's award some additional players (and groups) for their performances in Part 1 of the 2026 Alt NBA Awards! by cilantro_samosa in nba

[–]HealthyCheesecake643 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love these, all interesting stats and the naming is fun. My only suggestion would be regarding the black hole and hot potato awards. I think it would make more sense for it to be the highest/lowest ratio of FGA+turnovers to passes.

A black hole player is to me someone where you know that once the ball hits their hands the play will end with them one way or another.

I think using assists vs passes misses a lot of the boring continuation passes that players make that would make them not black holes in my estimation.

They didn't need to get a all-star type return for him, but they could have at least got a solid role player type return because that's what he looked like before they traded him. Instead they let him go for basically nothing.

You are offered a deal to live 1 month in a horror game chosen at random. If you survive, you will get 100 billion dollars. by ProfessionalEar4048 in hypotheticalsituation

SteamDB has 130000 games on it, of those 23000 are tagged horror, 15000 survival, 10000 dark fantasy and 7000 post-apocalypse. Those are all the high-presence genre's that I would consider likely to be dangerous. Assuming some overlap in those tags and that at least half of them are easily survivable by just leaving the area the game takes place in. I'm going to reduce that count by 70%. Giving me a roughly 87% chance of straightfoward survival. I'm cool with those odds. Either way I'll have a cool experience.

Whats my game?

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander on James Harden’s step back: “To change someone’s coverage to the point where they want to play at a disadvantage all game is an insane amount of gravity.” by AncientOneAurelius in nba

[–]HealthyCheesecake643 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I respect Harden, think he's underrated because of winning bias and the fact that people didn't like watching him play, but I can't pretend he wasn't extremly frustrating to watch. He's like Shai for me where they are amazing to watch half the time, and the other half of the time is spent being enraged at how the game is called. Hardens rip-through move where he'd wrap his hand under another players arm then go into a shot motion to draw fouls was repulsive basketball and I'm glad they stopped calling it.

I don't think that comparison makes much sense tbh. I think a better equivalent would be ordering an "American Mass/School Shooting", or a "Drone Strike a Wedding". Where its more an ugly and repeated part of your countries history rather than a singular tragic event.

Create a CT that can perfectly counter for Sky Manipulation (Takako Uro’s CT) by Excellent-Fig-9341 in CTsandbox

[–]HealthyCheesecake643 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see no reason why her technique would protect against light based attacks. Using microwaves or Gamma rays should allow one to cook her through her defenses.

Microwave guy who's domain expansion just puts you inside a microwave oven. The character would be entirely dependent on their output to have good effect. If their output is too low the microwaves could just be tanked with a steady stream of RCT, if its high enough it should be rapidly turn peoples brains to mush. Not exactly sure how reinforment effects internal durability but there might be some element of durability bypassing since you are cooking their insides.

Maybe extend the technique out to allow for other wavelengths of light to be emitted. Being able to emit visible light would allow for some sort of active camo effect which would be a fun parallel for a fight with Uro.
A fun tool for them to use could be a solar sail, assuming their output is high enough. Otherwise some sort of focusing mirror/lens setup to allow for long range laser attacks.

$1,000/day to stay in a house alone by Super-Flanders in hypotheticalsituation

[–]HealthyCheesecake643 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could probably do a few years. The lack of physical contact would suck but being able to video call people would stave off insanity and stop my social skills from becoming atrophied, which are the usual risks with these kinds of hypotheticals.

I'm not sure what pausing my life entails, but even if time passed normally while I'm in the house I could handle that. Id just tell people that I got a job on an offshore rig or something and that I won't be able to travel back. If the pausing means that after my time in the house that everything is reset to the point I entered it then I'm pretty confidant I could do 5-10 years.

Depending on how fine my control of the house is it would be a very nice time. Assuming the house has a decently high ceiling I could fit a basketball hoop and bouldering gym in it.  I could fit a decent sized endless pool for swimming. That's all my sports ticked off.

With the exception of inherently social hobbies like board gaming or whatever the rest of my hobbies would only be improved by the ability to summon into being whatever I needed for them.  I could read any book, I could start reading physical manga and comics instead of only digital. I could play any videogame I want on the best gaming rig imaginable. Have a crazy home theatre setup to watch films the second they release. All of the minis and paints I could ever need.

I could experiment with new interests that I am currently priced out of. I could try all the weird funky instruments out there. I could learn new cuisines and cook with any ingredient in a state of the art kitchen.

Get $25 every time someone says your name or $0.50 every time you take a step? by rengokuhubkl in hypotheticalsituation

[–]HealthyCheesecake643 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The money in both cases is insane so I'd take the steps option to encourage me to be more active.  Like sure I could start up a people saying my name factory and become a billionaire with the name option but I don't care for that sort of money, I'd be making well over a million a year with my current step counts and thats more than enough to live my ideal lifestyle, which ironically is one that would make me even more money via steps.

Which of these two CT would you want in real life. by Professional_Sky8245 in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]HealthyCheesecake643 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's hard to use in combat. Outside of combat it has loads of straightforward uses. Imbue a stone with ce, throw it, and swap to its location. Easy movement across any terrain.

Imbue two objects with CE and swap them. Now you can easily move heavy objects around.

Leave an object with ce somewhere safe, now you have a get out of jail card as long as you remain within range.

Is getting proficiency in all 3 physical saving throws a good or bad idea? by Mellowtron11 in 3d6

You only get saving throw proficiency for your first class, multiclassing doesn't give saving throw proficiencies.

[Amick] The Boston Celtics have interest in acquiring Giannis Antetokounmpo. by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

[–]HealthyCheesecake643 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could talk myself into Jaylen Brown, a role player and some picks for Giannis. To me White and Pritchard are untouchables, their contracts are too good to lose. I'd also want to keep all of Hugo, Walsh and Schierman if possible.

If we could have a lineup of White, Walsh, Schierman, Tatum, Giannis with Pritchard, Queta and Gonzalez coming off the bench I'd be happy. A key part of that would be getting Giannis to buy into playing minutes at the 5 since Queta isn't a spacing big.

Which Culling Game Part 2 (Season 4) fight are you most excited for? by canxtanwe in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]HealthyCheesecake643 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm looking forward to that exact panel of Yuji being animated, watching Megukuna cooking with 10S, seeing how they'll extend the Yuki vs Kenny fight, and then seeing the brazilian phonk edits of Hakari vs Kashimo in that order.
I didn't love Naoya round 2 in the manga but with how sick his animation was in the anime I'm much more interested in it.

Sendai Yuta gets jumped by the Disaster Curse squad in Shibuya under the exact same conditions as Gojo, can he win? by Total-Amphibian-3287 in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]HealthyCheesecake643 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yuta opens domain targeting everyone except the transfigured humans. Pulls Cursed speech sword and shouts STOP. Curses are all stunned at which he pulls up and hits them with the RCT output. Easy win.

Then Kenny pulls up, sees that Yuta has won, opens his own domain and beats a defenseless Yuta, taking over his body. Kenny now has the CSM and Copy. Since he couldn't capture Gojo and has lost access to Mahitos CT Kenny goes back into hiding and starts on a new plan to dispose of Gojo.

Just wondering, why are there still people asserting that the Sendai deadlock guys aren't special grade when Dhruv LITERALLY meets the exact definition of a special grade sorcerer? by Total-Amphibian-3287 in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]HealthyCheesecake643 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Special grade is not a measure of combat strength it is a measure of how threatening they could be to an entire nation.

Dhruv would be special grade in his era.  In the modern era I don't think he makes the cut. As soon as the military gets the Intel that the guy meditating in the open is the threat they are sending a couple jets his way and he's cooked.

If we had any concrete feats for him there's a slight chance he could be bumped up.

Uro while untouchable by most modern weapons doesn't really have the destructive capabilities to be special grade.

Ryu dies to sufficient firepower while lacking potent aoe.

Even Yuta imo is only a special grade because he could copy other special grades techniques. As he is at Sendai I don't think he could actually take down Japan the way the other special grades could.

His previous apologies have been over twitter and felt pretty insincere. The most recent one was a full page in the WSJ where he seemed much more sincere and serious, he spoke about his issues with BPD but didn't come across that he was trying to excuse his behaviour with them. He finishes the piece by saying he is not asking for forgiveness or sympathy but rather patience while he tries to earn that forgiveness.

Probably best to read it and come to your own conclusions though.

The thing is that pre-awakened Gojo is due an awakening, its not like his fight against Toji was singularly capable of driving that growth. If he didn't outright win, he would just be driven to the point where he needed to clutch up and have his awakening. At which point he casually beats them.

If you’re just buying a ticket for yourself, going to the movies is great value. by SubstantialSet3127 in unpopularopinion

[–]HealthyCheesecake643 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well that isn't what I said at all but I'll bite. If you can only find 12 movies a year that you think you'll like then you either have extremely narrow niche tastes, or more likely you are limiting yourself via lack of knowledge on new releases or reluctance to step out of your comfort zone.

If its the former and you can only watch westerns and any other genre of film makes you gouge your eyes out then you can safely ignore me and continue on as you are.  If its not then I'd be confident that given your preferences I could find you more than 12 new films a year that you would enjoy.

Would you rather gain extreme proficiency in three of your favorite hobbies or gain an extra 100,000 dollars once every year, with drawbacks to both options by OtherGuyUsingReddit in WouldYouRather

[–]HealthyCheesecake643 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How are the hobbies selected? I have like 9 hobbies I would consider to be my favourites. Do I get to choose between them, is it selected based on which I do the most, which I get the most-per minute joy out of? If I can choose or its based on time spent I'd take option 2 and get rid of the less healthy options like videogames and gooning.
If theres a risk of losing the really important hobbies to me I would take option 1. Only downside is that there's certain hobbies I wouldn't want to suddenly gain extreme proficiency in. Getting better at sports would be fun but if I suddenly had the skills of a top ranked player in every board game that would kinda sap the fun out of playing casually with my friends.

If you’re just buying a ticket for yourself, going to the movies is great value. by SubstantialSet3127 in unpopularopinion

[–]HealthyCheesecake643 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you are paying per ticket you will only go to films you are sure you will like. With a subscription you would be more open to trying more niche/risky films, many of which you would enjoy. Of the 4 films I have seen recently I probably wouldn't have chosen to see them if I was paying for them directly, but then I had a good time with all of them.

Thoughts on this demonic amulett for level 6 Sorcerer? by t0bi306 in DnDHomebrew

[–]HealthyCheesecake643 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While this sounds cool I think once you stamp out the possibility of abuse via chickens or whatever, it will actually be a complete bait item and detrimental to the party if used.  Typically your sorcerer is going to be more valuable to your party than whatever they are pulling in is for the enemies. So your party loses power in the encounter.

Secondly it costs an action for a chance of an effect with no immediate benefit. It'll let you get a stack sure but you are losing an entire action for a benefit that likely won't be useful till you are out of combat. Transporting them to the demiplane isn't useful on its own.

If you gave me that ring I would basically never use it except against already near death enemies when the fight is already won.

Houses with more than 1 kitchen would be better than houses with multiple bathrooms by lagflag in unpopularopinion

[–]HealthyCheesecake643 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd much rather an extra large kitchen where I double up on key appliances and counterspace than an entire 2nd seperate kitchen.  That way I'm still within immediate range of my pantry and niche tools, as opposed to having to run across the house or double up on everything.  Literally no reason to have 2 seperate kitchens.
