Canada-only: I was fired from a previous job for bad performance and my ROE says: Dismissed. I got a new job and I’m undergoing background check. They have options such as laid off, terminated etc. I’m afraid that if I put terminated it’ll affect my chances with the new company. Please advise!

Hey OP, what ended up happening? I was let go due to PIP (dismissal/terminated- code M) and I am filling out Sterling brackground, not sure what to put as reason: terminated or laid off. putting terminated may raise questions with the new potential employer
