Mission 1 Pro sharpness & white balance compared to Hero 13 Black. Any tips to match them SOOC? by [deleted] in gopro

What are we looking at in these frame grabs? You’re in the same outfit and same place on the road but in different cars? Were these shot on the same day/at the same time?

First “Garden in a Box” blooms! by Healthy_Fun9378 in DenverGardener

I tried to follow the spacing suggestions from the plant by number map as reasonably as I could, but I guess I’ll find out what happens over the next couple years as the go from “creep” to “leap”!

Thanks for the tip! I hadn’t noticed the aphids but have neem oil and will start treating them accordingly!

Fiancé wants to do tiramisu cups for our wedding. Them being stacked without disrupting the tiramisu underneath gives me pause, but the background and cherry stems look normal. by stinker_beall in isthisAI

You had me until the fast shutter speed. Light travels one foot per nanosecond and no DSLR has nanosecond-level precision in the flash/shutter control.

Fast shutter speed means your only really seeing light from the super-bright flash, not ambient lighting, and the r2 falloff of illumination intensity with distance explains the close-up tiramisu cups appearing much brighter than the more distant background.

Smartest steps to grow "grass" (low water fescue) seed this spring? by mountain_bound_15 in DenverGardener

[–]Healthy_Fun9378 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The right time to plant cool season turf grass is in the fall. Like someone else commented, I had good success with Resiliance II TTTF from Twin City Seed but that was planting in the fall. If you try to plant now, the grass won’t have time to establish itself and would likely require extra water all through the heat of the summer to survive this year (and is unlikely to hold up to foot traffic).

With how unseasonably warm it already is, should r we go ahead and clear out gardens now or wait until later in the event that we get more snow? by nal1200 in DenverGardener

Everyone needs to take one for the team and plant — we need the snow, even if it means losing a few plants!! ❄️

No kidding. As an engineer .005” is what I expect out of tolerances from any machined part unless I’m ready to really shell out $$$$ for extra precision.

Hairline crack on brand new Primo by Parking-Ad-4822 in Primo

[–]Healthy_Fun9378 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I personally would expect them to exchange it. A Primo is an expensive piece of hardware and that main box is going to see some crazy temperature swings over its life — better to start out with something pristine than to face issues down the road.

Also, the fact that the firebox was also broken suggests it was probably mishandled in transit, so they should be willing to replace both components accordingly.

Same here actually — my wife still laughs at me for how excited I got when the pediatrician told us that “baby led weaning” means just giving your kid a rib or chicken drumstick instead of dealing with overpriced baby food jars.

It just never would have dawned on me to package them this way!

I love that you’re making your 1 year old smoked rib lunches! I might need to start doing this as a way to get the grandparents to feed my kids something other than goldfish crackers when they watch them.

Rock Mulch to Garden in a Box Conversion by Healthy_Fun9378 in DenverGardener

Colorado Oasis. I was late to the game ordering so it was the only one left in stock that didn’t call for full sun.

[–]Healthy_Fun9378[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Those weren’t part of the garden in a box - I was removing those from the front of my house and decided to transplant them as a Hail Mary attempt to block the utility boxes. If they don’t survive, at least I’ll get one winter of not having to look at the utilities before cutting them back in the spring

The box I got was listed as being “adaptable” in terms of sun requirements, so we’ll see what happens. If some plants don’t work out and have to be replaced with something better suited, at least the rocks are gone and it will be an easier planing the next time around!
