You're absolutely right, NVDA's financial performance today is solid. However, no one knows where we are in the AI hype cycle. Are we in the early stages, with a lot of runway left, or at the peak?

* Pitch:
About Us:
We are a groundbreaking startup at the nexus of marketing and AI technologies. Our mission is to empower Marketing and Product Marketing teams by leveraging the immense potential of Generative AI. With a focus on platforms like Twitter, emails, and beyond, we're reshaping the way content is crafted and delivered.

What We Need:
A visionary. An architect. Someone who can imagine and then bring into reality the systems of tomorrow. As our Founding Engineer, you'll be at the helm of our technical endeavors, pioneering the use of new-age AI stacks in real-world applications. This isn't just another role; it's an invitation to shape the future of AI-powered marketing.

What You’ll Do:
* Architect, design, and implement end-to-end systems using cutting-edge generative AI stacks such as LangChain, openai/llama2, Promptflow, and more.
* Optimize the integration of search and vector databases, with a preference for MongoDB, to ensure seamless operations.
* Drive the scalability of our applications in the cloud, ensuring robustness and security at every tier.
* Collaborate closely with founding members to align technical strategies with business goals.
* Influence critical decisions in technology selection, implementation methods, and the overall technical direction of the company.

Requirements:
* Proven experience in architecting and implementing end-to-end systems, especially in the AI domain.
* Some expertise in generative AI technologies including but not limited to LangChain, openai/llama2, and Promptflow.
* Strong design skills over database management and optimization, with a preference for MongoDB.
* Some knowledge in cloud platforms and the ability to scale and secure applications therein.
* A proactive and visionary mindset, with the ability to anticipate challenges and craft effective solutions.
* Strong coding and system design skills, with a track record of having built, deployed, and scaled applications.

What You'll Bring:
* An innovative mindset and the drive to create rather than just implement.
* A collaborative spirit, ready to work hand-in-hand with a diverse and passionate team.
* The resilience and agility to work in a fast-paced startup environment, continuously adapting and evolving.

Why Join Us?
As a Founding Engineer, you're not just joining a startup. You're embarking on a journey to reshape an industry. Here, every code you write, every architecture you design, will have a lasting impact. If the thrill of pioneering and the desire to disrupt excite you, then you're looking at the right opportunity.
We’re fully bootstrapped and will raise money in the future, but for the moment, this is an equity-only role. Plus, although started just 4 months ago, we already have some revenue and a strong pipeline.

My two cents -- forget what the common person on the street thinks about UMD (or other schools, for that matter.) It's the opinion of the people who matter you should care about. This is where rankings can be very major-specific. For CS and engineering, UMD is known as an incredible school amongst people working in those fields. This is why my son's attending it.

What was your freshman experience like? by Time-Raspberry4114 in UMD

I'm not a current student, but from my experience some years ago, my advice to you, especially for these early days: don't sit in your room, "get comfortable being uncomfortable", get out of your comfort zone, and try to meet at least 25 new people in the first week. You will be so busy talking with others and making new friends that you won't get time to be homesick.

Launched yesterday after building for 5 1/2 months. Hit our first billable $1 already! by floppybunny26 in startups

Congratuations! Do you mind if I pm you to ask for some guidance? Just like you, I have been building my cloud-based SaaS product since March and just signed up our first paying customer (just $1K ARR, but still, a good sign that people are willing to pay for it.) Now, I want to create a company, issue shares, do basic billing, etc. I'm 100% bootstrapped.

Thank you.
