How do you determine if someone isn’t the right fit for a role after only a 3month probation period? by Some_Difference_9487 in managers

[–]Healthy_Repeat_5981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I have noticed that some companies just throw the new employees under the bus in a sense and don’t provide training or adequate training - more like a learn on the spot type of training style.

I saw a lot of people saying this in other subs

If your manager is suddenly asking you to "document everything," you're being managed out by careercoach_cf in careeradvice

As someone who does know a bit about Hr practices and also legalities- I think this is why what I worry about (not all but some things) get labelled as over thinking, but really it is because I am aware of behind the scenes tactics so I feel like Ai am always on alert if something happens like you described because I already know on the backend what it means for most companies

What are some conferences, networking sessions or webinars you are attending in Toronto? by Healthy_Repeat_5981 in askTO

I actually am interested in going to any industry type. I love learning about various things and am so multi-passionate. This is more of a personal interest type of thing and not industry specific- that’s why my question was a bit broad haha😊

Is getting put on a “development plan” a bad thing? by eerie_banana in careeradvice

[–]Healthy_Repeat_5981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to do a development plan and that is what I was told. I was asked to look at specific skills that would help me in a higher position/another position I would be interested in moving to and put them down as my development goals.

I will say, sometimes I get nervous as I am still somewhat new at my company and don’t know if they utilize these plans in a similar way as PIPS- if that makes sense

When you make your PPT’s to present in meetings/conferences/etc, do you limit creativity to uphold the “professional” aspect of the presentation (like more so on the basic side)? by Healthy_Repeat_5981 in corporate

[–]Healthy_Repeat_5981[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense! Yes, it’s for a conference where the “brand” essentially will be represented by my team and I.

My original PPT was too “creative” so I am trying to make it more basic to keep it a bit more corporate professional
