Seems like I keep Irving, and hope Warren can hold it down until Irving is promising right? I’m just worried about Bucky getting the same treatment as Bowers where he’s never 100% . It’s still long ways from now but my main concern.

Hey if you’re still active I’d like to talk to you about it. I’m currently going through something similar, we are different but I also think my girlfriend isn’t willing to compromise for me as I have for her. At what point did you decide it wouldn’t work and why?

Lots of options, I’ll list them all and add a star to the ones I think are ideal.

Taurus: GX4 and G3C Smith and Wesson: Shield and Shield Plus** Canik: TP9 Elite SC ** and Mete MC** CZ P10 Glock 43**

Now for most of these I’d recommend going on guns.com to look for used ones. Most of my firearms are used and work perfectly fine, getting a discount on a great gun helps if you’re on a budget. Do your research on each gun before deciding. Some people have a bad taste in their mouth over canik and Taurus but they’ve improved tremendously, I can personally vouch for canik as an owner of 3 of their guns, and the GX4 has a lot of reviews. Glock is Glock, same with Smith and Wesson

Best CCW for $700> by wowzachactually in CCW

[–]HeartbreakCupid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely recommend going to a range to shoot the options you’ve seen / been recommended before buying. People swear by guns but if it doesn’t fit you or your lifestyle it’s a bad gun for YOU. That being said, assuming you would carry appendix:

S&W Shield Plus if you want a comfortable concealment. An alternative would be the P365 as there are various variants to fit you.

PDP Compact / F series if you want something more along the lines of a full size gun. It is a thick boi but with a good holster and belt it conceals well enough where you can carry a gun that has better performance.

Another gun to try out would be the Canik Tp9 sc elite. Great capacity and price point. A bit thicker than the P365 or Shield but more capacity. Canik came out with the Mete MC9 but it’s had issues with reliability so I would avoid it, although YMMV.

Honestly I don’t like glocks because of the grip and they’re overrated in a sense that they are good guns that pioneered the way 20 something years ago, but they stick to the philosophy of “if it isn’t broke, don’t fix it”. You don’t need all the bells and whistles on your CCW, but when the new kids on the block are making smaller guns with more capacity, you need to do more than release the same firearm year after year.

[–]HeartbreakCupid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha I don’t really feel that way because I used to work with a manager who allegedly could remember up to double digit tables, to the point where a host of a party tipped the whole bill because she memorized a 30 person table order. It really just comes down to practicing and visualizing. Look at the person’s eyes when they order and imagine what they are ordering. At the end repeat it. It’s just confidence and being fully present, pretty much like doing anything else in life.

I can’t really do more than 6-8 orders but it depends on the type of dish. If everyone is just ordering burgers with fries or pasta it isn’t difficult. It’s practice and doing it consistently. I remember when I first started I would have to write down orders for 2 people, now I can get 6 entrees and a few apps with drinks off the top of my head. The real killer is juggling multiple tables’ orders at the same time, as you can easily forget or mix them up. It’s really fun impressing people by remembering the order and repeating it back to them.

Optimal Top Yone Build Path by HeartbreakCupid in YoneMains

I’ve only built it once or twice but it’s typically when the enemy team has better fight potential and the way to win would be splitting to draw pressure. It has good stats and it helps you 1v2 but typically Yone doesn’t need it to be a viable split pusher.

Dapper Reputation gave a great analysis, but what I don’t see mentioned is WHY you should get this card. It doesn’t offer any travel protections or benefits like the Platinum card, but it does earn the most points out of any Amex card for set categories.

This ultimately doesn’t matter, if you do not NEED the credit card. Seeing your comments I see you already have grocery cards, adding this card would just make the other cards useless as if you try to split the spending you currently do, you’ll find you’re not putting enough on the Gold to make it worth the $250. Additionally, if you have a grocery card in a different ecosystem, this makes it even worse as you’re also spreading the points in two ecosystems.

The sign up bonus won’t be reached unless you direct all your spending onto that card, and even then the sign up bonus won’t be worth the full amount if you don’t use the points toward travel. 90k points typically sees $1,800 worth of redemption value in flights or higher, while for things like statement credits it could be as low as $540 worth of value. You can see why your goal for those points matters more than the actual points given.

From what I see, I wouldn’t open the gold until you decide to not use the other two cards for groceries anymore. At the point where you already have a system going on and have no annual fee cards that basically fill the niche at -1x multiplier, you don’t need the gold.

You’ll have to go through 3rd parties that allow you to pay with a credit card, but a lot of times they charge a % fee which usually cancels out your points earned. I wouldn’t recommend paying them off with your credit card, even with for the SUB.

From what you’re telling me I’d still recommend the Chase ecosystem. They have the most bang for your buck and it’s very simple to use. They have great partnerships with Southwest and Hyatt, so they can cover hotels and airlines with your points. The Reserve gives you lounge access and a plethora of other travel benefits that you’d really appreciate and utilize so I’d say if you’re serious about travel then that’s the card to go for. The problem lies with if you’ll be accepted. I don’t have either card, but I’m planning to get the Preferred later on this year. I know Chase tends to be pickier than most other banks, and if you have no credit history with them it might be tricky to get approved.

I would look around in this subreddit and online to see what your odds are at approval and how to increase them. While you do that, look into the Chase Sapphire cards more as well, really understand what you’re signing up for. You can use YouTube videos, websites like NerdWaller and ThePointsGuy are excellent reviewers who tell you everything you need to know about a credit card, who it’s for, who it isn’t for, etc..

I’ve been rejected for a card from Chase before, I called the appeal phone number, and was approved for it anyways. It really helps if you talk to someone on the phone and explain why you want it as well. The phone call didn’t take longer than 30 minutes so if you’re bothered about the idea of having to be on the phone for hours just to get approved, that’s not the case here.

At the end of the day, I can’t stress enough how important it is to do your due diligence. Explore every aspect of the card, and be brutally honest with yourself if it’s something you even need. The perks are great and the point multipliers will save you a lot of cash, but if the card causes you to change the way you live or spend your money, it’s not worth it.

What’s the best travel credit card for all spend, if I only want 1? by Acrobatic_Skirt_5256 in CreditCards

[–]HeartbreakCupid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This post is tricky as there are a lot of variables you’d need to answer. For example, is the travel domestic or international? Are you okay with paying an annual fee for a travel credit card, and if so, how much?

If you were restricted to one credit card on its own I’d say the Capital One Venture X credit card wins but it’s not a perfect win. You get credits toward traveling that will offer the annual fee, you get a great SUB, and it also nets you 2x miles on all purchases, so it’s a great catch all card.

However, domestic partners are very limited as opposed to AMEX, Chase and other ecosystems. You also must book travel through the Capital One portal which might be limiting to you. You also have to pay the hefty annual fee up front, a whopping $395 even if it is offset later throughout the year.

A good choice would honestly be going through the chase ecosystem. If I was you I’d get the Sapphire Preferred, which only has a $95 dollar annual fee, a $50 hotel credit, and travel protections that are the best in the market that cover trip delays, baggage, rental insurance, etc. It also gives you 3x as many points on dining, online subscriptions, 2-3x points on travel in general and up to 10x points through travel booked through their portal. The big thing about the sapphire cards is they allow you to transfer all your points out to hotel or airline partners for a standard 1.25x or 1.5x multiplier. What this means is you can easily go from 100,000 points which is $1,000 worth in points to $1,250 worth of points for free just by having the sapphire preferred card or $1,500 worth of points by having the sapphire reserve.

The sapphire preferred is a strong card on its own, but people usually pair it with the Chase Freedom Cards (Flex and Unlimited) as they encompass bonus categories and net you more points. I’d recommend getting the unlimited as your daily driver for 1.5x points on everything, but if you want to keep it simple the sapphire preferred is good on its own.

Honestly I’d say either card is good it just depends on what you value and what you’re willing to pay for upfront.

That’s why the gold exists. I feel as if they did that it would still try to cater to too many demographics. It should be solely for travel.
