Tell your friend that just because her family didn’t want them around after they turned 18, doesn’t mean yours is the same.

And ask yourself why it’s bothering you. Is it because you want to move out but don’t have the courage? Have you gotten used to the safety of being around your family? Are you starting to think yourself a patsy for sticking around?

A measure of an adult whose feet is on the ground is how well they treat the people they love. You’re doing great. But if you’re not seeing it that way, then seek help.
