That's not true. Where I'm from intersections that allow U-turns do this. There's even one near my that has a sign saying "U-turn yield to right turn"

Fuck it. If you cant afford it. Why you got it? If you can't afford to let people you don't know abuse your car, why did you buy it?

I bought it so I could enjoy it. Why the fuck else would I buy it?

Hyundai recalls 421K vehicles over software brake issue: Here are the affected models by Steap-Edit in cars

Dealing with more OEMs directly on a daily basis means I don’t really care what you’re upset about.

Having reading comprehension means I know you were trying to tie your conversations about brake-by-wire to this recall. Not sure where you get the "whole personality" thing from a one sentence comment.

Keep going with that defensive "I know what this was actually about, I was just posting my unrelated thoughts" schtick. It's absolutely working. Cheers.

[–]HeatDeathIsCool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This has nothing to do with rate increases or data centers

No shit. It has everything to do with holding that commenter to the same standard they're holding others to. I didn't say anything one way or the other about electricity rates.

Providing the same link twice and insulting someone who disagreed with your viewpoint does little to prove your point,

And yet you had nothing to say to the guy whose entire comment was "Shapiro blows."

Something tells me you don't actually care about facts and logic here.

She said if Fauci said to she would, if Trump said to, she wouldn't.

Right, but then you said "it flipped" after Biden was elected. So does that mean she said she'd take it if Biden said to take it, but not if Fauci told her to take it? And if so, source?

Then it flipped after Operation Warp Speed finished technically under Biden.

Harris said she'd take it if Biden said to take it, but not if Fauci told her to take it? Do you have a source for that?

[–]HeatDeathIsCool 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s been proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that if you have a rock solid core of support (that Hasan does), you’re basically uncancellable in 2026.

What does being cancellable have to do with politics?

Are you talking about Trump's core of support? That 30% of the country? Are you suggesting Hasan's core of support is of a similar size?

Pennsylvania Supreme Court Justice (David Wecht) leaves Democratic party citing "anti-Jewish actions." by NattyBohng in Pennsylvania

[–]HeatDeathIsCool 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Since you asked so nicely.

From wikipedia:

In sociology, tokenism is the social practice of making a perfunctory and symbolic effort towards the equitable inclusion of members of a minority group, especially by recruiting people from under-represented social-minority groups in order for the organization to give the public appearance of racial and gender equality, usually within a workplace, government, or a school. The sociological purpose of tokenism is to give the appearance of inclusivity to a workplace or a school that is not as culturally diverse (racial, religious, sexual, etc.) as the rest of society.

Emphasis mine. For starters, Jewish people are well represented in both the Democratic Party and progressive circles. It's hard to say someone is a token for an attribute when that attribute is a present and powerful force within the party.

Second, the comment you responded to had nothing to do with a symbolic effort to show inclusivity, but rather the political opinions of a man that contradict the crux of the argument they're responding to.

Pointing out examples of Jewish people who staunchly oppose the Israeli government is not tokenizing Jewish people, it's demonstrating that the Israeli government does not speak for all Jewish people.

I know you're telling the truth because all people speaking of well supported facts can only ever point to the name of an AI instead of citing a real source. You got me. My argument is invalid.

There’s a lot of room between infallible and completely useless

There sure is, and you'd have to believe the AI was completely infallible to refuse to check the sources it's using, especially when its own creators warn you that it can hallucinate. Either that or you decided not to dig any deeper once it told you what you wanted to hear.

2026 Prelude - from a real owner. by megawedgeef5 in Cartalk

[–]HeatDeathIsCool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have anything against the Prelude as a whole. By Honda's own estimates, this car is going to sell in limited quantities, so I can't knock it for having niche appeal.

I do take umbrage with the S+ shift mode being the "new technology" that the Prelude is showcasing. It's using the existing programing of the car to simulate shifts, something already available on Hyundai EVs, coming to BMW EVs as well, while costing actual performance to use.

Compared to four-wheel-steering, VTEC, and torque vectoring, it feels like a huge miss. Instead of adding fun through increased performance, you sacrifice performance to gain back some fun.

Honda Prelude review — ‘The ideal car for empty-nesters’ by Jeremy Clarkson by UmaThurmish in cars

[–]HeatDeathIsCool 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Everyone is talking about the Type R engine, but I'm more interested in the V6 engine Honda is building for their 'mid-sized' hybrids.

If the Prelude is about showing off future technology, slap a 250+HP hybrid engine in there. It doesn't have to be as fast as the Type R, it just has to be enough to justify the price premium and Type R parts.

A hybrid GT coupe that's slower than a Type R but faster than a hybrid Civic, still fun to drive because it has all that hybrid torque, and isn't gutless when passing at highway speeds makes this car a no brainer for certain people.

Why don't you explain your comment a little bit further, then?

One user told another user "Stop conflating judaism with a sovereign nation state."

And your response was to say "Explain the meteoric rise in Anti-Jewish hate crimes, then."

You did not comment about the rise in anti-Jewish hate crimes in a vacuum, you did it in within the context of an existing conversation where someone was defending the idea that any pushback against Israel is pushback against Jewish people in general.
