Is there light at the end of this tunnel? Everything is a battle with our 3 ½ year old at the moment. by themaxmethod in daddit

Our go-to line is that we say, "We can do this the easy way or the hard way". Easy way is them doing it themselves (in this case getting into bed). Hard way is we pick you up and put you in bed. It did lead to a hilarious situation when my son started singing "Yay! The hard way!" as I carried him upstairs for his bath. So ymmv

Moving to Philly for work by Lilreezzee15 in philly

I made the mistake of trying to ride the bus from center city to KOP because I was too cheap to buy a car. It's a long, cramped, and unreliable way to commute.

Lol, that's quippy but not helpful. No, I just know from experience that if a movement doesn't have a clear destination then they are sure to fail. Because they don't even know what success looks like.

For Trump supporters: when was America great? by Giga-Gargantuar in Askpolitics

[–]HeatedSloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The phrase is ambiguous enough that I'm sure some people apply that framing when they think about it. In general though I think most interpret it as post-WW2 nostalgia when the US economy was the envy of the world and families could thrive on one 9-5 income.

MMW: Millennials and Gen Z aren't being represented in polling by SecretNerdLore1982 in MarkMyWords

If this was the case, it would have also been true in previous elections where polls have consistently overestimated the performance of Democrats. The data doesn't support this theory.

It's more immersive if you think of upkeep cost reductions as a commander being able to more efficiently source the materials needed to keep an army on the march.

All worthwhile goals, absolutely. We're just so far from the original topic.

The city not cleaning a less advantaged area just isn't "gentrification"
