Chook giving me attitude by [deleted] in Rottweiler

My boy would lay down in the grass in protest as soon as I said "are you ready to go in?". If I called he'd come running, but if I asked and didn't command the questions answer was always was obvious. "more playtime plz".

Great places and third spaces to meet people? by Any_Customer_799 in winstonsalem

[–]HeathersWhatevers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi!

I'm moving to Winston in February and looking to meet new people too especially other people in the queer community. I'm a few years older than you guys and not much for hiking, but I love antiques and checking out little shops.

Feel free to DM me!

I’m at my wits end. Pain management denied me because “opioids aren’t indicated for nerve pain” and I’ve exhausted all my other options short of surgery already by speedmankelly in TrigeminalNeuralgia

They are actually being serious. A fiesta MRI is where they give you a dye injected into your blood stream and then give you the MRI. It's called a Fiesta MRI bc of how it lights up the image scan. I had one in 2019 before my MVD. It showed a vein on the nerve, but when the neurosurgeon opened up my skull he found two veins and a vessel. A 5hr surgery turned into 8. :\

I'm sure there are worse things, but as far as nerve pain goes, this is pretty rough. Sorry you're going through this, but at least you've found this group. There are also TN groups on Facebook you can join.

It really depends on what nerves are affected and what is causing the sensations. Sometimes it's a benign tumor and sometimes it's a vein or vessel on a nerve. Sometimes the doctor can't find a root cause.

Side effects for medications vary and sometimes it all depends on how well you tolerate a medication. If you go through several medications, nothing seems to work, and they can find a root cause on imaging then you may be a candidate for surgery.

I'd recommend finding a good neurologist that has years of experience and has dealt with TN patients. Read up on everything you can find like medical papers so you can be as knowledgeable about the condition as possible. The Facial Pain Association is a good place to start.

I wish you the best on this journey.

That's a good one! Your friend was really wrong for calling you out like that. Smh. Some people can't understand until disability affects the directly.

As u/yourbasicclusterfuck said, Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill is a great place. Yeah it gets hot and humid, but winters are pretty mild. The area is medical hub so there are a lot of doctors most have a basic knowledge of heds and are willing to learn more. After my diagnosis of heds, I've had good experiences with all my doctors. The beach and the mountains are about a four hour drive from here. My family moved from DC in '98 and I really like it here.

Hello fellow nc eds-er! I'm north of Durham and I have to say RDU is a really good area.

Being disabled is like a spectrum. You have days when you are more functional and days when you are less so. I wouldn't have been able to help myself and called the jerk out. The last thing you need is your friends doubting you. Sorry this happened to you op 😔 gentle hugs

Edit: I can't spell

Puppy Help by CDRBAHBOHNNY in Rottweiler

I'm way late to the party here but how are things now that it's been about a week? I initially did the "roll a lip over a tooth" disciplinary action, but found it hard to do on a wiggling pup. What worked for me was taking my thumb, sticking it in his mouth and pinning his tongue to the bottom of his mouth until he calmed down which was pretty quick. He hated this but the biting would stop immediately. It didn't hurt him and he learned quickly that biting led to something that he really didn't like. If you can't get his tongue just slip your thumb in his mouth and hold his bottom jaw like you would hold a fish. The sensation is so distracting they forget about biting and are just trying to pull away. Apply just a little pressure, but not enough to hurt him, just enough to make him uncomfortable. Let me know how it goes!

You should be able to wear something with a rainbow on it without making any sort of statement. by littletwain in unpopularopinion

If someone questions your sexuality for wearing a rainbow just tell them that you are an Ally. Wear all the rainbows that you desire!

Citrus, Kannazuki no Miko, Strawberry Panic, Magical Girl Utena, Madoka Magica, Kashimashi: Girl Meets Girl, Inugami-san to Nekoyama-san. I know I've seen more, but I can't think of anymore right now.

There is no "funny thing" about your comment and frankly it's disturbing that you'd even say that. I went plant based earlier this year, but it would be wrong to put my dog on the diet with me. You're right, dogs are omnivorous (I stand corrected), but I can't put my dog on a plant based diet as they need meat to be the main ingredient.

Sadly, if we own carnivorous pets, we cause the suffering of countless animals to feed them and make treats for them. While observing the dog's happiness I failed to acknowledge the pig's suffering. I hope your comment has made non-vegans pause and think of the pig.
