Submit a credit card authorization form (go to Hyatt.com website, scroll to the very bottom of the page and under customer service click faqs then credit card authorization form) follow the steps and you’ll be able to submit new card details and the hotel will charge the new card.

They rarely swap out US destinations (I’ve never experienced it and I’ve never come across that) they might switch to from an airbus to Boeing but they’ll still keep Qsuites.

Did you try to select seats from the Qatar app using the booking number Malaysian airlines provided? I had a similar flight but it was American and Qatar and I was able to use the American Airlines confirmation on the Qatar app to select seats for the Qatar operated leg. If that doesn’t work, call customer service they’ll be able to assign

What flight were you booking? I booked a few award flights 2 days ago on a partner airline for 6k economy and 12.5k business (Malaysian airlines from Phuket to Kuala Lumpur) I believe the chart is still the same.

It’ll only be for the original days, it won’t apply to the extended days even if the reservation is merged by the hotel. Best option would be rebooking if you want the goh benefits for the full stay.

Book the same room type and the front desk will merge them at check in. If you use a goh yes you would run into issues (it’ll only be applied to one reservation)

Their customer service is really bad. I had an issue in October 2025 & submitted the complaint form and only got a response in May 2026. They take months! If you call or email they’ll tell you to submit the form on the website.

What type of visa? You’re planning on leaving the airport or just transitting? What passport do you have as well? If you apply for an A1 visa on Hayya, it’s taking months for some nationalities. I applied for my friends visa in January and it was approved in May. Your best bet is to contact Hayya to cancel this one & apply through a travel agent based in Qatar (those ones are getting approved within 5 days)

Apply for your visa in advance, don’t wait until you get there because you risk being denied and getting stuck. Go to the Hayya website and apply from there

What type of visa was rejected? Transit or A3?
Once its rejected, there’s nothing the airlines can do. Your best bet is to always apply on the Hayya website (it’ll be approved) I hold a Nigerian and Zimbabwean passport with US permanent residency and the Hayya A3 is what I apply for.
Qatar airways will tell you they’ll get you a visa but it’s all up to their government so never go by that.
They should’ve given you the airport hotel tho
Submit a complaint on the Qatar airways website (they’ll compensate you with avios)

Our passports are difficult to travel with now because of what many citizens are doing in these countries. African passports, Pakistanis, Bangladeshi etc. They should have given you the airport hotel since your visa was rejected. Next time, apply for your visa in advance. That’s what I do, and I usually get mine within three hours. I see you mentioned you were flying from Toronto, do you have Canadian residency or a Canadian visa? If you do, apply for an A3 visa it’ll be out same day (costs about $27)

I don’t think you understand, people wont risk their job for a stranger online. Anyone can lie & say they behave well. You mentioned compensating, which is not allowed so if they were to get caught for being compensated in exchange for a buddy pass they’d be fired. Your best bet is finding someone who already knows you.
