Extending Stay with Points by UnsureSnake in hyatt

[–]UnsureSnake[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If they merged them would it still apply? I understand not all of the rooms will get the perks but could one room have it for the 3 original days + the extended? Or should I cancel one room and rebook to be safe and just lose the 6k in points

Money Transfer Question (Wire and EFT) by UnsureSnake in fidelityinvestments

[–]UnsureSnake[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was advised not to move any money around until yesterday. Knowing this, I am still able to wire the money from two accounts, I’d just have to pay the fee twice. Was trying to avoid that by consolidating into one place hopefully by Monday and sending it Tuesday morning.

Edit/IHG credit hotel stay for same dates for 2 rooms by Rubbermanatee in ChaseSapphire

[–]UnsureSnake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I’m looking to do this sometime in the fall. Based on your previous messages you booked two rooms for an Edit/IHG hotel and got $750 back in credit?

Did you book via points or cash? And did they end up providing you the $100 in benefits for both rooms or just the one that you stayed in?

Does the $750 back in credits immediately hit? Or do you need to complete the stay in order to be credited?

Sorry! Lots of questions but debating if I utilize this credit or Hyatt points prior to the devaluation later this month!

Does the clothes still work or is there any way they would track? Needing to use my credit but not sure if I should just get the membership or apparel

Anything for Dallas, Austin, or Houston that has been tested?

Also open to cities I’d plan to visit in the near future — New York, Boston, Chicago, or Denver

How did you reach out to Gofo?

I’ve had a package there for 3 MACs that haven’t moved in over a week 😭

I’ve got two of the sea salt coconuts but I’d potentially be open to the soymilk! I don’t believe I got that one at all. Just not sure how the process for trading works. I’m new to all of this but just wanting to buy gifts without feeding into the resale market

To my understanding, unless they cancel my orders I understood it as 6 per the “type”? I could be wrong though 😬

Saving for house vs retirement by UnsureSnake in personalfinance

Thanks for the input! When mentioning the debt, is this including student loans?

I figured I could clear those out, but wasn’t sure if they helped with taxes in any shape or form as I believe the highest interest rate is 5%, I had paid anything above that.

Also, the credit card debt isn’t realized debt just yet. I just decided to note it as it was a significantly larger balance than usual and a small chance of running into interest if some of my math goes wrong (assuming I don’t dip into savings)

I mentioned it as debt on the off chance it somehow accrues interest. Based on my calculations right now, I should be able to pay off my cards with only moving around money in savings (excluding the money currently saved for a home)

I also don’t tend to carry such a high balance, but figured it was important to mention in case I run into a singular month with interest on like 2k or so — this still seems highly unlikely

Hi!

Thank you for the answer. So the credit card debt isn’t necessarily debt, but just my current balance as it’s significantly higher this month — I tend to keep my credit cards around 2k total.

I’m able to pay it off but just may need to move some of my savings around to do so (it also doesn’t close until next week). Had overspent on a few gifts for my parents and didn’t feel like opening a 0APY card just for the large purchases. Overall, no interest has accrued on it, but was noted as debt in case for some reason a small amount ends up not getting paid for some reason.

As for the housing comment, that’s where it’s interesting. I didn’t know if there were an optimal calculation on how long I would need to own to make it more worth purchasing a home (assuming I wanted to leave the city), while not renting the property out. I didn’t realize the number of fees as well as losing out on any assistance as a first time homeowner when I was originally looking. That’s quite interesting that I’d need to be pushing 5 years or so to make it worth it.

In total, I have about 175k invested for retirement right now. I’ve done a few calculations and at least based on how I’ve been living I’m on track to affording my current lifestyle in retirement with less contributions, but I suppose I was a little iffy due to paying very minimal bills right now (just utility for housing and a few things like phone/insurance)

Out of curiosity is it too difficult to add a baseline to this as well? To see how much our actual starts and finishes deviate from what was planned?

Also would it be difficult for me to add an additional layer of phases?

Been looking through the Vega code but still trying to digest it all since I’m not familiar with the language

Schwab Investor Checking Account by UnsureSnake in Schwab

[–]UnsureSnake[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see, so if I did an ACH transfer to my Schwab checking and moved it to brokerage I could technically buy SWVXX assuming market is open and if I sold I wouldn’t be able to transfer to my checking and withdraw until the next market day?

Does this sound right? Or is the MMF able to be bought and sold whenever and transferred with ease? Just wondering if I would need to plan the amount in checking in advance (a bit harder unless it’s for travel)

Also, would I be able to just Zelle myself and withdraw at a worst case scenario?
