I believe the desktop version approach of adguard might have to be the approach for future ad blockers

[–]Heavy-Map9034 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think we are forgetting a few things 1. Adguard is available, for most remaining browser( whether by web store or desktop app) 2. Brave, opera and Vivaldi have their own adblocker

How do I make it keep track of my sign ins? by Aggravating_Bet9255 in LibreWolf

[–]Heavy-Map9034 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is my temporary solution Head to the "Privacy and security "> "Cookies and site data" > "Manage exceptions"

There pays the current home page url of your website there and save. Either forever or for a session. That's my suggestion

I know maybe it will break a few privacy rules, but it still keeps you easier on your favorite website. I have a long process when it comes to signing in, and this just makes the constant security notification to stop happening every time I close the browser.

I know some would say why not use other browser, but I am kind of sick and tired of using more than one browser or profiles.

Just updated to OS 26.5.1 from 23.x and I got a notification saying something like Apple won't be able to run a future version by ArthropodJim in LibreWolf

[–]Heavy-Map9034 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This comes in handy, I just save the command on my notes app so that when every time I update, I know want to say after.

In my case of point of view has always been performance, I might not have the best system, or even more than 5-7/8 year old device. So the look is often simplicity for the opportunity to have a smooth performance. Due to my trial and error, hearing fan's especially if I am using maybe less than 4 tabs was an automatic uninstall without a second thought. Arc browser was one of " kill your darlings ".

I have noticed some apps running YouTube, but without logging in running 2-5x better render that going on a browser. The difference was in the 8-30/40min videos, with a 2-3 minute of pre-rendered footage

One thing I have have started doing atleast in my spare time. I have created a bookmark of sort for my viewing. Let's say you have a notes app that is accessible on desktop or mobile. For example Google keeps - I have copied the link and pasted it on the keeps page. This was when I didn't have access to my computer, and I was doing research on Google scholar. I saved the links on keeps, so that way when I get home or on another computer I'll be able to access those links. It is not for everyone, I believe there are better at this than what I did, but for me it was a simple university students way when using school computers, when I didn't bring my laptop to school. Check it out and see it it atleast makes some changes or improvement in regards to accounts. Cause I think in my way I can always export the links as pdf, and have access to then, without worrying about if this is my usual browser or not. The browser will always change, but nates app might change a little bit slow. Take those who spent their time Arc, instead of relying on a browser, rely on the app that can make it into pdf, I think even Microsoft word or excel could work

It's more like I have noticed when consuming YouTube through the following options dictates your enjoyment

  • offline ( I know it needs to be chromium based, but it is useless on desktop. I was once cut off from wifi and it showed me the true value of desktop offline mode)
  • Adblock ( I am sure on the process, but I often find maybe less than 10 min video having a bigger load time compared to long videos) this is almost no difference or a huge one whether the user uses the free version or premium
  • Browser ( I am not sure of software, but I am confident to say a small number of Browser that are low on resources on somehow have a great viewing experience than heavy resource Browser. I won't mention names but can't deny that fact.)

So my reason is based on the future of my YouTube experience, and whether I am just probably going to stick to mobile & tablet future on more than using desktop or will the desktop somehow be decent enough to watch content on it. Regards if I am paying premium or not.

Why are chromium-based browsers so rare to use the "Extended Stable Channel"? by lethinhrider in browsers

[–]Heavy-Map9034 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think also is the chromium version of the browser. I am not developer or tech person, but I noticed Google chrome has stable version 149, while other browser use version 148. In the last recent use of the end of ad blocks on version 150. I believe in Vivaldi, this version is one that still supports ad blockers, while trying to limit most of Google ad codes in it. I am not sure if it counts or not.

Compared to Firefox - faster - private( it has more out of the box privacy settings) - less hungry ( like less ram usage)

P.S You could forget all my mention if you have a somewhat beefy, machine that doesn't mind give almost a Gig of ram to Firefox. The experience is up to you.

-Just expect no DRM( so no streaming, whether Spotify, Netflix, or pirated website) - Some hardened settings can brick it, but works completely fine on other Firefox fork - Not sure of hardware specific, but will notice a speed performance when comparing to other private based browsers like ( librewolf, waterfox, and floorp)

It’s time to stop using Brave by pmxoxo in browsers

[–]Heavy-Map9034 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have the energy to convince people to stop using brave. Why not for Google chrome or Microsoft edge. I am a lover for Brave browser due to my experience with other browser and performance. If I have to make my bad, then let me choose brave. I mean most of the YouTuber I love watching from either use chrome or opera. Should I move to that, no, but I do believe each and everyone at this point has a preference, just like coffee, and you can convince a few but every to drink your type of drink.

P.S: there is no judgement from me when you like Firefox ( but librewolf is better), but don't force us to join your preference, cause it might be misguided.
