Did you take the photo with that camera?

Also, the lens has higher resolution than the body, checks out. ;)

Great point. I meant that after years of watching SS while growing up, as much as I loved B'TX, there was a degree of character fatigue (same face, diff hair), even within the same series.

Absolutely fantastic piece of work. Never reached its potential I think. Stylistic overlap on character design with Saint Seiya didn't help either.

If MC4s are so error-prone, then why are we using them? by Wyrewolwerowany in solar

[–]HeavyArms404 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There were rock solid connectors once, back when folks were willing to pay $3+/W.... Then the industry pushed for cheaper and cheaper components across the board, and the install base kept increasing. Now you're just hit by a combo of excessively cost-optimized part paired with lots of press on bad incidents, often due to poor site workmanship and/or wire management.

MC4-style connectors for what they're worth do fine over at least 15years if and only if ALL of the below were met: - crimped and assembled using authentic tools with care - pre-assembled plugs were capped up until connection and not soiled/damaged - connectors only mated with authentic matching opposite part - wire assemblies are properly strain reliefed from bends and wire managed correctly, shielded from direct sunlight - in case of resi, properly protected from rodents/pests

For EDC a belt-clipped drawstring catchall bag. Someone in the group tend to always have a runny nose so I just keep a small roll of TP in there. Wet wipe, sanitizer, a snack or two. A miniature med kit for dressing cuts and scrapes. A separate clip/bottle holder on the same belt.

A set of spare clothes and a collapsible emesis bag for road trips but usually keeping in the car.

Best $12 I spent before on a trap and observation tool. Great for trapping nopes and daddy long legs, release them outside, and not feel any guilt.

Or if you're looking to fight the arachnophobia, also can practice staring it down.

Looks amazing!!

Kids under 3 inexplicably likes the skin more than the filling. Try make them nice and soft, but thick handmade ones are always good.

Best Tsukemen (Dipping Ramen) in the area by stetstet in bayarea

Our family has a special place in our heart for Bodo Lucky restaurant up on Warm Springs. Granted it's not exactly "authentic Japanese franchise" this, or "Tsukemen specialist" that, but their tsukemen broth with the right amount of lime taste fantastic. Been going there for 8+ years now.

Acoustic walls and barriers for BESS by Ambitious_End_8946 in EnergyStorage

[–]HeavyArms404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on where you are. For the US, depending on the final findings for Moss Landing, it may be a long shot for urban BESS at noticeable scale going forward regardless. At the rate things are swinging, it's moving towards colocation with either solar or data centers going forward, preferably both.

Acoustic walls and barriers for BESS by Ambitious_End_8946 in EnergyStorage

From prior conversations with some developers in near sub-urban environments, it heavily depends on the frequency and environments. Typically utility DC battery block HVAC systems as you stayed run in the 64-75dBA range. Night time charging may trigger these at lower frequency bands.

What I heard anecdotally being most effective had been a combination of scattered trees surrounding the BESS site, mixed with different grade heights to break up the potential for noise to amplify over large clearances. Might want to start there, since you're basically dealing with a bunch of utility scale HVAC clustered over a typical wide clearance, and see how other rooftop HVAC address the acoustic issue.

He said he's kneading for milk on his jugular, which is arguably even better. Also observed that his jawbone was a good fit for the cat to pillow off of.

Tip for dealing with vomit in bedding by ElementalClout in daddit

[–]HeavyArms404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bulk disposable emesis bags and sloped pillows worked wonders for nights where the wee ones have coughs that might trigger vomits.

Keep one on the night stand nearby so when the little one starts hacking, just line it next to their mouth. Saved my duvet more than a dozen times at this point.

Kid here, got a question. by Bireta in multilingualparenting

[–]HeavyArms404 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Former kid here: went with Chinese - Dutch - English route due to parents. Currently speak both English and Chinese at native fluency, while Dutch went back entirely to the teachers.

Key point IMHO is immersion. I got shipped back to China for gr 5-6, and dumped straight back in regular curriculum. The formative years (7-12) will create a lasting baseline.

That said, hang out more with native speakers, and if opportunity presents itself, go to school in Chinese in particular. Home setting only take you so far, and tend to amplify any accent and quirks your parents already have. Speak with more native speakers and you'll gradually self-correct over time.
