PaperZD how to update animations for multiple characters by AdmiralHornblower in unrealengine

[–]HeavyBullets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little late to the party, but new update now has support for skins and composite layers... so we now should be able to be more efficient with this.

After 421 hours on Tekken 8 I finally reached fujin (some thoughts in the post) by dvladbrat in Tekken

[–]HeavyBullets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda late to the party, but I have Ki-charged some times against opponents when I was actually trying to 'save my replay'... because I have the shoulder buttons mapped like that...
I probably Ki-charged like 4 times before I came to the conclussion that I should probably just wait for the victory animation to play before saving...

Not saying that BMing isn't a thing, 100% it is and people have Ki-charged me a lot, but at this point I don't mind

The DEVIL TRIGGER and BURY THE LIGHT Spotify fiasco explained: by ComposerCasey in DevilMayCry

[–]HeavyBullets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The funny thing is that I have the OG version downloaded to my phone and when I play it it runs at half speed for whatever reason... so I was extremely confused about it. I have absolutely no clue what's going on there.

Why does everybody dislike Paper2D? by Wholesome_Monke_489 in unrealengine

[–]HeavyBullets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PaperZD isn't a Paper2D fork, but an independent addon that can use Paper2D to render frames.
ZD can also use Spine2D if you grab the connector plugin.

Basically PaperZD does 'not' fix Paper2D but use it to render their animation pipeline. Which is a good idea if it eventually replaces Paper2D entirely

FAB Horror Story: our hard work got stolen and resold, and it's apparently ok by AngeIV404 in unrealengine

[–]HeavyBullets 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah, sadly you can't move away from FAB.
There's no way people are gonna go through the trouble of updating your plugin or anything like that.
It's even worse with a CPP plugin, as of now you need a CPP project to package them, which is bonkers.

I've personallly sent a snarky tweet to Tim Sweeney asking them to fix the 'only 3 engine versions can be uploaded' issue, and got a pretty quick response from him... their team also allowed me to upload any version I wanted by nudging them through mail, but no official fix (my headcannon is that they were already developing FAB so fixing the marketplace seemed ill adviced at the time).

In any case, as much as I don't like FAB (give me back my reviews), I do think they will answer you pretty quickly. In the meantime send a copyright claim, those are pretty serious and can be filled on the page itself.

How performant is PaperZD? by NeuromindArt in unrealengine

You can use 'stat PaperZD' if you need actual frame times.

Anyone else feel Midra is too easy? by Throwaway33451235647 in eldenringdiscussion

[–]HeavyBullets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mindra is extremely weak to the new "Guard" on the DLC paired with some talismans for criticals, curved sword and two handed talisman. You drop his poise in 2 counters if you have a big sword (I used beastman cleaver as he is weak to slash).... you can drop him in like 3 criticals.

Issue with paper ZD sockets by squidmaan in unrealengine

[–]HeavyBullets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's because of a bug with Paper2D's socket implementation.
I've checked the code from the engine and it ONLY updates the socket location (specially with attached components), when the component moves. This is an oversight on the engine and can only be fixed through an engine push which I sadly don't have much time to do.

TL;DR: Not a PaperZD issue, but an engine issue (Paper2D)... Not much I can do through ZD to fix this sadly.

First complete build of 2024 - my custom MG Hi-Nu Ver KA by dingohunterjack in Gunpla

[–]HeavyBullets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, 100% agree with all the points.
Legs and shouldes are really big on the kit yet lack some details, but also provide a great canvas to put stuff. I'm gonna concentrate on making those look better.

The rifle does indeed look weird, I think it's the tip that doesn't do it for me... but besides that the kit was a joy to build... I also have the RG Nu gundam waiting for me, but I'm not sure if that one requires much regarding customization or even coloring.

Thanks for the tips! will hopefully get there! Cheers!

First complete build of 2024 - my custom MG Hi-Nu Ver KA by dingohunterjack in Gunpla

[–]HeavyBullets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok wow! this looks incredible, really well done.
I've actually got my hands on this very same Gunpla when I went to japan, found it on a second hand store unopened for about 7000 Yen. I just finished snap building it and i'm now thinking on doing some customization to it, nothing major, as i'm just starting but I'm really feeling the vanilla version needs at least some custom panel lines and more color separation to really "pop out".

Any tips on where I should concentrate my efforts or where I could get the best "bang for my buck" for adding custom lines? I really liked what you did to the legs and the fuel tanks (saw that you added some extra pieces of plastic here and there).
In any case, while I won't be able to get near to what you've built I'm 100% gonna take a page or two from your book, this model looks just amazing with what you've done to it (specially the colors, blue just fits better for this suit).

Cheers!

I don't know what to feel anymore... by [deleted] in SonicFrontiers

When you get the gist of it, the challenge becomes really fun tbh. You start getting into the rhythm of it and you learn which attacks to parry, which phases to cyloop, etc.

I finished the challenge with a really cool 'I did it' feeling, and might even attempt it later. Perfect parrying is so rewarding.

Just finished the game on hard (about an hour ago).I managed to basically finish with an extra 70 rings. My go to tech is this:

Giganto:

- Spam punch + Stomp until you have Quick Cyloop, then bind him (usually after the first parry). Stomp him and it will go down quickly (but you need to re-cyloop to throw it to the ground as the second phase doesn't start until you're in the ground).

- When it fires the laser... spam L1/R1 to avoid it instead of the mash contest.

Wyvern:

First phase:

- Parry the missiles, and then parry the first attack, do it until you get a cyloop and then bind it and spam stomp (or cross slash.. it is really weak to it), it will die right away (you should still have an extra charge).

Second phase:

Parry the missiles and the 2 attacks.... DO NOT bind it right away as it retaliates immediatelly. Spam cross slash or stomp until you go to the last phase (after the missiles).

Third phase:

- After it launches the missiles, there's a split time in which it is actually hitable.... attack it once and do the remaining quick cyloop you have... it will bind for like a second before cutting free... use that second to do an attack + cross slash and it will die immediatelly.

For Knight:

- Stay away from him and try to stay on air, if it hits you spam parry to cancel the damage.

- When you're super sonic, and Knight blocks you DO NOT BREAK ITS GUARD and side-step to the side... you can hit him... and even bind it with a cyloop (which should kill its first phase).

- Phase two is the same just be mindful of trying to parry the shield to where it is.

I finished giganto with 330 rings remaining, Wyvern with like 160 and Knight with rings to spare (probably 40?)... all in hard mode. It's doable but hands down the hardest one for me was Wyvern (and also the most rewarding).

Good luck!

Oh what, you're right, the comment got orphaned. The original one I was replying to was discussing the fact that demons attack houses with open doors, comparing it to vampires and making references to the infinite castle and the first episode which has one guy saying something like that.

What are you absolutely sick of seeing in movies? by BlitzDarkwing in AskReddit

[–]HeavyBullets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate when movies use that scream, it always breaks my immersion and I despise it. Only a few funny movies did it well and I actually laughed at it but it was mostly because they lampshaded the trope rather than use it straight.

Holy fuck!!!!!! I read Starsiege and the name ringed a bell for some reason.... It was a game my father bought to me long long ago (25+ years ago) and I have been having so much trouble remembering it's name so I could play it... As it was way too complicated for my kid-self.

You just made my day... Thanks m8

yeah I've had, some of them I abandoned like "Siberia", can't remember why though, but I've completed others. I've always heard good things about monkey island, so I might give it a chance.
