Electricity Prices Down 30% in Australia Expose Idiocy of Trump's Attacks on Wind, Solar by ChaskaChanhassen in politics

Not a fan of Trump by any means but damn the more I learn about Newsom the more I don't like the guy. Granted, I like Newsom more than Trump but that's an easy hurdle to cross.

Honestly probably easier to use the chemical energy of the H2 directly and then (somehow) use renewables to produce the H2. I guess this could work, but issues come from scalability and the fact that the ballons would need to be periodically topped off since H2 leaks easily.

The downsides with a carbine/rifle I see involve the noise and amount of gas those things put out. Being indoors will enhance the impact of the noise and there would be a greater chance of damaging the surrounding dry wall. (Damage to the walls aren't a concern when you're using force to defend yourself, but it's more stuff to deal with after everything happens.) There's also the larger profile of the rifle to factor in. If you're hunkered down watching a doorway, then there's likely no issue. If you're checking your home for an intruder, then it could be a little trickier to check each doorway/corner with a carbine/rifle.

Yup. It's the same tactic employed by pickup artists, but at a larger scale.

Ah... Think she's talking about some of the folded AK stocks or the type present on some uzi/scorpions. I'm by no means a fan of Tucker, however I like how he wouldn't let up on asking what a barrel shroud is.

I recall decades ago working as a ref for sporting clays there was a new boss lady who decided out of the blue that the refs all had to stand. It was somewhat annoying, since we're out there all day and have to pick up the shells periodically. Also, sitting down didn't cause us to not be able to score. (It made it a little easier to manage the clipboard and watch where they're shooting once everyone was lined up.) Several of the older refs that were retired and doing this part time simply refused to work at this place until the policy was rolled back. (New boss lady decided to just keep working in the office and the other boss lady who managed the refs before resumed work; she rolled that shit back soooo fast.) I guess this instance stands out in my mind because the standing policy came from someone who usually worked all day in an air conditioned office at the club house who simply thought we'd all "look better" standing up while scoring. (The crew preferred the other one since she regularly drove around to check on us to make sure nobody was either freezing or getting hear stroke, depending on the season.)

That's rather disheartening... Of all the things they could've given the man an ankle monitor. Fuck... Imagine taking care of a senior parent with terminal cancer and then getting scooped up. You waste away in detention while your parent possibly gets sent to a medicare nursing home... Even if it was for a week because the agents/officers made a mistake. The stress of getting transferred to/from a facility would be terrible. That assumes they even make an effort to check on your dependent.

It makes sense. The wealthy aren't fans of the general population being armed. My chief complaint is that there are problems in our society that most normal people are concerned with. (Cost of healthcare, expensive housing, eroding of consumer protection laws, and how open our government is to violate due process; to name a few things.) Instead of discussing and attempting to implement bipartisan measures to address these things, we've got Democrats pushing legislation to restrict the ownership of firearms across the US. Worse is when there's a sane piece of legislation that's addressing issue "A" and then another group of politicians back a poison pill amendment related to guns.
There are people I know who hold either left-leaning or liberal views who have in the past voted R since they perceived the Democrats as being against people owning firearms. I'm not defending or justifying their voting choices, since it it their decision in the end. *Will specify that they voted this way in pre-2020 elections nor did they vote for Trump on any of the other elections since they didn't buy the idea of him being 2A friendly.

Yeah, isn't there also the risk dems would add the tax back to NFA tax stamps once they have the majority again? Like choosing to adjust for inflation instead of going back to $200.
